Erin's Law Information (Kinder - 3rd)
Annually, since 2013, District 62 is required to provide information to our students on age-appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention consistent with Erin’s Law. Erin’s Law was named in honor of Erin Merryn, a brave young woman who has crossed the country advocating for laws that will increase awareness of sexual abuse against children. We note this is not a new requirement and has been in place in the state of Illinois for several years.
If you have any questions or would like additional information on the Erin’s Law presentations, please contact your school’s administrator. If you would like your child to opt out of these lessons taking place the week of December 9th, please call or email your building principal by December 6th. Visit http://www.erinslawillinois.org to explore further information on Erin’s Law.

Cumberland PTO Walk A Thon Themes
We are so excited to have everyone involved in selecting this years Walk A Thon Theme! The students worked really hard to come up with themes and now it is your turn to narrow it down to just 3! The Cumberland Walk A Thon will take place in May 2025.
We know it is going to be a hard decision because there are so many great ideas.
The top 3 will then be sent to the school for the students to vote on and the top 1 will be the theme all prizes will be centered around. Please click here to take the survey or below.
Dressing for the Cold Weather

Cumberland Monthly PBIS Focus - December
Positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) is an approach schools use to promote school safety and good behavior. This month students are learning about: helping a friend. During social emotional learning time, they will work through class discussions, listen to read alouds from staff, and engage in other activities with their class centered around the monthly focus.
One way you can support this monthly focus at home is to have conversations with your child(ren) about our monthly themes.
Thank you for your continued partnership in education.
