Week of January 13-17, 2025
Principal's Message
Dear ORCA Families,
Our first week back went well, and we’re excited to continue building momentum as we move further into 2025.
As we dive back into the semester, we want to emphasize the importance of consistent student attendance. Every school day matters more than ever for our students' academic progress. Regular attendance helps ensure that our students are fully engaged in learning, have the support they need, and can make the most of the opportunities ahead.
We also have an exciting milestone approaching—our 100th day of school on Tuesday, January 21! This special day is a great opportunity to celebrate all the learning and growth that has taken place so far. We encourage you to check in with your child about their return to school, and help us foster a strong start to this year by prioritizing attendance whenever possible.
If there are any concerns or challenges regarding attendance, please reach out to us—we are here to support you and your child.
Thank you for your continued partnership in your child’s education. Let’s make 2025 a successful and rewarding year together!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Herrera
Principal

Let’s have fun with this theme! Students can wear wigs, glasses, suspenders, or any other accessories that make them look like someone who's lived a wonderful century. This is a great opportunity for creativity and fun as we celebrate our students' 100 days of learning and growing together.

School Wide Behavioral Expectations: All Areas
Dear Parents and Guardians,
At Wagner-Holt, we are proud to uphold our ORCA expectations, which guide students to be their best every day. We ask for your support at home in reinforcing these expectations. By discussing these guidelines regularly with your child and modeling these behaviors, you can help them understand the importance of being a safe, responsible, and engaged member of our school community.
Together, we can ensure that Wagner-Holt remains a positive environment for learning and growth. Thank you for being an essential part of our ORCA family!
Organized
- Arrive at school on time and report to the correct location.
- Keep toys, sports equipment, and valuables at home.
- Wear closed-toe shoes and follow the dress code.
Responsible & Respectful
- Follow directions the first time they are given.
- Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
- Show empathy and kindness toward others.
- Be honest and trustworthy.
Community & Engagement
- Cooperate and show consideration for others.
- Be polite, encouraging, and supportive of classmates.
Achievement
- Strive to improve and be a better ORCA every day.
Safety

- Report unsafe or inappropriate behaviors to an adult immediately.
- By following these expectations, we create a community where everyone feels safe, valued, and ready to achieve great things!
Dismissal in Front of our School
Dear Parents,
To ensure a smooth and safe drop-off and pick-up experience for all, we kindly ask you to follow these protocols:
- Parking: If you are waiting to pick up your child, please park your car. This helps maintain the flow of traffic and avoids congestion.
- No Blocking: Please do not block the handicap parking spaces or stand on the driveway, as these areas need to remain accessible at all times.
- Pick-Up Location: Wait for your child on the sidewalk by the main gate.
Thank you for your cooperation and helping us create a safe and efficient environment for everyone.
Handicap Parking Zone
Dear Parents,
We kindly remind everyone to avoid blocking the handicap parking zone in front of the school. These spaces are reserved for individuals with proper permits and ensure accessibility for those who need it most.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our parking areas accessible and safe for everyone.
Dismissal on Waudman Avenue
As we continue into the second quarter, we want to emphasize the importance of safety for all our students. We’ve observed some students crossing Waudman Avenue outside of designated crosswalks while rushing to their vehicles.
Ensuring the safety of your child remains our top priority. We kindly ask you to encourage your child to use the crosswalks and avoid jaywalking, as it significantly reduces safety risks.
Thank you for your cooperation in creating a safer school environment.
Everyday Counts Attendance
Every school day is a chance for your child to grow, learn, and shine! 🎉 Each day is packed with fun lessons and activities that help build important skills and knowledge. When they’re in class, they’re making big strides toward success and staying on track in their learning journey.
Let’s keep teaming up to make every day an amazing one for our students! Thank you for being such a fantastic part of their educational adventure—we couldn’t do it without you! 😊✨
