Friday, September 27- eLearning Day due to inclement weather

Friday, September 27 will be an eLearning Day

Please be advised that all Richland One schools and administrative offices will be closed Friday, September 27, 2024. Friday will be an eLearning day for Richland One students. Please call the district help desk: 803-231-7436 if your student is unable to log in to their district-issued device.

All afterschool activities and events that were scheduled for Friday are canceled. The College and Career Expo for juniors and seniors has been canceled.

Nutrition Services will send breakfast and lunch for Friday home with students today (Thursday, September 26).

Student Art at the State Fair

Works of art by 45 AC Flora students will be on display at the SC State Fair from October 9-20. If you have a chance, stop by the Cantey Building at the fair to see the student art created by young artists from all over the state of South Carolina.

Teaching Fellows Scholarship Information Session

CERRA (Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, & Advancement) is holding information sessions on the SC Teaching Fellows Scholarship. The mission of the Program is to recruit talented high school seniors into the teaching profession and help them develop leadership qualities. Each year, the program provides Fellowships for up to 230 high school seniors who have exhibited high academic achievement, a history of service to their school and community and/or have work experience, and also possess a desire to teach in South Carolina.

National Honor Society

The Zhuowei Yin Chapter of the National Honor Society at AC Flora High School will accept new members this fall. We have sent emails to students who are academically eligible to be considered for membership. The academic criteria are: the student must be a junior or senior (not already in NHS) with a weighted GPA of 3.750 or higher. Applications must be filled out by the student and returned to Mrs. Purdy in room 203 no later than Friday, October 11, 2024. Late applications will not be considered. Students who are selected by the faculty committee for membership will participate in an induction ceremony on Monday, November 4, 2024 at 6 pm in the AC Flora Theater.

Homecoming Carnival Dance- new time

Student Council is hosting Flora's first Homecoming Dance in over 20 years on Saturday, September 28, from *7:30-9:30 pm in the practice gym! Tickets are no longer available.

Fall BBQ Fundraiser – October 3rd

Close your kitchen on Thursday, October 3, and let us provide dinner for your family!

The AC Flora Athletic Booster Club will host its annual Fall BBQ Fundraiser on Thursday, October 3rd. BBQ plates will be served via drive-thru at the AC Flora Main Office entrance from 5-7pm (rain or shine) with walk-up plates available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

ICYMI: IB Whitewater Trip

On Friday, our International Baccalaureate juniors and seniors went to the US National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. They started the day with team building and then got the chance to do some whitewater rafting, ropes courses, and zip lines. See photos.
