Dear Lake Forest High School Community,
HAPPY SUMMER! As our Scouts head off and our graduates head in–one last time—we are all excited for the break! As for those of us who are left behind over summer vacation–we are moving around a little to make room for construction to begin on Monday. It is hard to believe, but the much-anticipated planning and preparation for a renovated Lake Forest High School begins Monday!
For our returning Scout families, I will be communicating with you in July about all the things for the 2025 school year, but until then, I will leave you with this quote:
“Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the earth.” -Henry David Thoreau
I wish you all the in-the-moment happiness and memories that summers are made of!
Your proud principal,
Erin

Planet Fitness
Illinois High School Association (IHSA) partner, Planet Fitness, has announced that it will provide free access to its fitness clubs in Illinois to high school students throughout the summer of 2024.
The Planet Fitness Summer Pass ’24 provides free access to high school students ages 14 to 19 from June 1 to August 31, 2024. “We appreciate Planet Fitness providing this wonderful opportunity to allow high school students in Illinois to maintain their health and well-being throughout the summer free of charge,” said IHSA Executive Director Craig Anderson. “We recognize that for some students, especially in the summer, Planet Fitness may be a more viable option than training at a high school or other venue. The Summer Pass ’24 epitomizes Planet Fitness’ mission to promote physical and emotional health for young people in our state.”
Registration for the Planet Fitness Summer Pass ’24 program is available at any Planet Fitness club or online at planetfitness.com/summerpass . Individuals under 18 years of age will need a parent or guardian to register.
Summer Jobs (Lake Forest Park and Recreation)
Lake Forest Parks & Recreation is hiring teens ages 16 or older (15 with a work permit) to serve as Lifeguards, Beach Guards, and Camp Counselors for summer 2024. You will gain experience, serve the community, and sharpen leadership skills while getting paid and spending the summer outdoors - and it looks great on college applications! Bonus benefits include a summer Lake Forest Fitness Center membership and free paddle board and kayak rentals at Lake Forest Beach. Join our team and apply now.
