We are so close to starting the new school year, yet, we've never imagined a time where things would be so uncertain that we can't even guarantee when the first day will be or how it will take place!?! That said, we truly believe moving our start date to August 17th will give us adequate time to finish getting all our safety measures in place.

As we move forward, please read on for more information including the Parent & Student Handbook for this school year!

Click on the attached copy of the Parent & Student Handbook for all information pertaining to the upcoming school year. Please note that some areas have been adjusted to meet current state and federal guidelines, and may be further adjusted if new policies are put in place.

In-Person (Plan A)

Our plan is to start our school year on August 17th with in-person classes held on campus. If you prefer your child to be on a full distance learning plan, please email michelle.hecker@lbswarriors.org.

Full Distance Learning (Plan B)

Be prepared... If the state goes into complete shutdown we will begin school with distance learning on August 17th. We will send out details regarding what this will look like for us within 24 hours of the announcement.

Social Distancing

All classrooms are being reorganized to accommodate 6-foot squares around each student. When necessary, student desks will also be equipped with sneeze-guards.

Outdoors & Common Areas

Even with a smaller school, it's important to maintain a good flow for students walking to and from classes. We will have directional arrows placed around the building to help students walk in the same direction where possible, and given stopping points as needed to let others pass by.

Classes will also be on a modified release bell so fewer students are in the hallways at a time.

Larger Class Sizes

Most classes will have less than 15 students, but for those on the larger side, The Chapel will be utilized for all of their classes. Seating will be spaced 6-feet apart.

Does your child need a ride to school? If you have children going to both campuses, you live or work in the Waipahu area, or simply find a Waipahu drop off more convenient, a shuttle bus will be coming from the elementary campus to the high school campus each morning and returning every afternoon.

Students must be at the Elementary Campus by 7 am each morning.

The shuttle will leave the High School Campus at 3:15 pm each afternoon.

This service will be provided for a fee, however, 1st semester will be free! If you are interested, please let us know as soon as possible as seating will be limited due to social distancing protocols.

If you have not had a chance to visit our campus over the summer yet, there have been some wonderful upgrades! We have installed new carpet in our chapel and in some of our classrooms, the ramp fronting our school has been replaced and fortified to provide safe and sturdy access for anyone on wheels, a fence surrounding our yard has been installed to keep our students safe while at school, and our Senior Class of 2021 (along with a few helping hands) has put in a new walkway that spans from the parking area, down the side of the picnic tables to the steps of the building... And, boy, are our arms tired!

We would like to offer a new elective for students in 10th grade and up... Driver's Ed! We have partnered with Marlo from EZ1 Driving to teach this course on Wednesdays during school hours.
