Conferences will be held Thursdays, February 6 and February 13, 2025.
All conferences must be scheduled using the MyConferenceTime website. Families will have the option to select either Virtual (Google Meet) or In-person (in the teacher's classroom).
After you sign up for conferences, you will receive a confirmation email, which will contain the conference meeting link and/or in-person conference time. PLEASE save this confirmation email. It contains the meeting link for your virtual conference or your in-person conference time. You will receive a separate confirmation email and meeting link for each teacher with whom you schedule an appointment.
Please note we have teachers who are part-time and others who travel between multiple buildings, which limits their conference schedule.
If a teacher's conference schedule is full, you can always email them with questions or to possibly set up an alternate phone conversation.
If your child does not receive English as a Second Language (ESL) services, but you would like an interpreter for the upcoming conferences, please contact the school at , 763-506-5600, to arrange support with your child's grade level administrator.
We have included additional MyConferenceTime resources for parents below as needed.

**Attention 7th Grade Parents/Guardians**
In keeping with recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health, Oak View Middle School Health Services performs routine grade-level vision screenings for seventh graders.
Seventh grade students will be screened during the school day on Monday, February 3rd.
Please remind your 7th grade child to bring their eyeglasses or contact lenses for this screening!
To opt out of vision screening for your child, please contact Oak View Health Services at 763-506-5704.
**Attention 6th Grade Parents/Guardians**
Minnesota state law requires all students to be immunized before entrance to 7th and 12th grade. Your student could need one or more vaccinations or a legal exemption to meet these requirements. You may check your student’s immunization records in AH Connect. Be aware that seventh grade students should have a Tdap booster after the age of 7 years, 3 polio, 2 MMR, 2 Varicella (or medical provider proof of chickenpox), 3 hepatitis B, and one meningitis shot to enter 7th grade. All 12th grade students require a second meningitis booster dose to enter 12th grade. Any entry on the shot record of 1/1/1900 indicates that your child had a case of the disease and does not need the vaccine. Please check with your school health service department or private medical provider if you are unsure which immunizations your child is lacking. Thank you!
Parking Lot Procedure - Student Drop off and Pick up
Our goal is to ensure the safety of all students. In order to do so, we have specific procedures in place for drop-off and pick-up. The student school day is 8:25a-3:05p.
For morning drop off, the doors to the school are open for students at 7:45a to wait in the foyer until the building/hallway doors and cafeteria open at 8:00a. Please do not drop your student off before 7:45a (especially in the upcoming cold months) unless it is prearranged for a club, class or activity. For these scheduled items, the instructor will meet the students for entry at the front entrance per the arrangement.
Due to the large number of vehicles and foot traffic, please understand that the drop-off/pick-up process will take time.
- Please patiently wait in the vehicle line to drop-off/pick-up your student.
- Use the entire curb area, at the main entrance, for pick-up and drop-off. (The first vehicle in line should be almost to the stop sign, not in front of the main entrance.)
- Students need to exit the passenger side of the vehicle onto the sidewalk.
- Do not cut through the middle of the parking lot.
- Students are not to cross traffic to get to vehicles or out of vehicles. (Do not let your student cross the parking lot.)
Several vehicles are able to pick-up or drop-off students simultaneously when utilizing the whole curb, which speeds up the process for everyone.
Personal Electronic Devices Policy
The goal of the OVMS cell phone and electronic device policy is to create opportunities for
digital citizenship and use of technology, while maintaining high standards for learning. In
order to promote the most effective learning environment possible, and limit distractions,
cell phones and other personal electronic devices will be powered off and put away from
8:25a to 3:05p. During the school day, staff will provide access to electronic
devices needed for any activities or assignments. In the event of an emergency, parents
can contact the Main Office to get a message to their student. Students who have their
phones and or other personal devices out during the school day will be directed to put
them away. Repeated infractions will result in parent communication and possible school
consequences, which may include leaving the device in the office, having a parent pick
up the device, detention, etc. Families are encouraged to review the technology insurance
options. Students are not allowed to make phone calls or send text messages between 8:25a to 3:05p. Students will be allowed telephone use in the Main Office during the school day provided they have a signed pass from their classroom teacher. Students will be allowed to have a call placed home for forgotten items provided they are school-related items. The item will be deilvered by a student worker to the student's current classroom. If the call home is for a forgotten
musical instrument, that instrument will be delivered to the music room.

Bobcat Den homework help
Oak View Students have a place, after school, to:
- Work on homework
- Get help from a teacher
- Get caught up from being absent
Bobcat Den is located in the Media center
- The Den began in October and ends Thursday, May 29. (No Den on conference nights)
- The Bobcat Den runs Mondays through Thursdays from 3:10p to 4:15p.
- On Tuesdays and Thursdays there is an activity bus students can take home - the bus doesn't depart until 5p (students remain in the media center under supervision). On Mondays and Wednesdays, students will have to arrange their own pick up/transportation home by 4:15p (for safety reasons, students will not be allowed to linger in the building after the Den).
- The purpose of the Bobcat Den is to provide a safe, organized place for students to receive additional academic support. Students who are off-task and/or disrupt the opportunity for others will be removed from the Den and may lose the privilege of future participation.
(Students should bring all necessary materials when they report for help.)
