Dear VAP Families,
What a fantastic first week we had! Despite the unseasonable heat, it was wonderful to see the students back in action and ready to learn. We deeply appreciate those of you who picked up your children a bit early on Friday to help us keep everyone cool and comfortable. Your support in ensuring our students' safety and well-being means the world to us. We’re pleased to share that the weather is expected to improve significantly this week, which will make for a more pleasant school experience all around.
As we settle into the new school year, we have some exciting events coming up that we’d love for you to be a part of:
Water District Assembly: Tomorrow, we will host a special assembly focusing on the important theme of water conservation. Our 3rd-5th graders will meet in the gym at 8:15 am, while Kindergarten-2nd graders will attend the 9:15 am show. Parents are welcome to join us for this informative and engaging event.
Middle School's Back to School Night: This Wednesday, September 11th, from 6:00-7:00 pm. We’ll kick off the evening in the gym. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet the teachers, learn about school policies, Middle School Travel Week, connect with other families, and get answers to any curriculum-related questions you might have.
Padres Kids Fest: Happening on Sunday, September 22nd at Petco Park. Today is the final day to RSVP, so if you haven’t already, be sure to let us know down below if you’re joining the fun!
Parent’s Night Out: Mark your calendars for Friday, September 27th, from 7:00-9:00 pm. This will be VAP’s first-ever Parent’s Night Out, an excellent opportunity to unwind, mingle with fellow parents, and strengthen our community bonds.
We'd also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful grandparents in our VAP community who were celebrated this past Sunday for Grandparents Day. Your love, support, and involvement in the lives of our students are truly invaluable. We hope you had a joyous and special day!
We hope to see you at these events and look forward to a wonderful month ahead. Your involvement is key to making our school community vibrant and connected.

Rita's Italian Ice Rescheduled to 9/27
Rita's Italian Ice will now be visiting our campus on Friday, September 27th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Kindergarten through 2nd grade students must be accompanied by a parent to attend this event. For 3rd through 8th graders, staff will be available to guide them through the experience.
Please bring $5-$10 in cash for each child who wishes to enjoy this delicious Italian ice.
