Notes From the Superintendent
Greetings,
As we compiled this last installment of the 2023-2024 Noble News we stopped to reflect on the many highlights of our district over the past 10 months. It has been an exciting year full of learning, growth, and memorable moments for our students. Our goal is to showcase a snapshot of that with each installment of the newsletter. We hope you've enjoyed reading about some of the year's standout moments.
Our dedicated teachers and staff have worked tirelessly to provide a rich educational experience. One that fosters curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning in our classrooms. I am continually impressed by the passion and commitment they bring each day. Our students have embraced new challenges with enthusiasm, expanding their knowledge and developing invaluable skills to prepare them for future success.
Beyond academics, I am proud of the way our school community has come together to support one another. From charitable initiatives to arts and athletic events, the spirit of teamwork has been evident throughout the year.
If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to review the MSAD #60 Annual Report, mailed to all community members, please take a moment to do so. The report highlights, in more detail, a number of events, opportunities, and the achievements of our students.
Congratulations and best wishes to Noble High School seniors! In spite of rain and the power outage the graduation ceremony on Friday evening was a joyous celebration and acknowledgement of years of hard work and development. Kudos to the class of 2024!
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to making this an incredible school year. Our accomplishments would not be possible without the combined efforts of our students, families, staff, and community partners all working together.
Summer break is a great time to recharge and keep minds active through reading, exploring interests, and finding ways to continue learning and expanding skills. We will see everyone again in August.
Regards,
Audra Beauvais

Kate Mochon, a dedicated Visual Arts teacher at Noble High School, recently embarked on an incredible adventure as part of the 2023 Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship program. This special program recognizes 50 outstanding educators from across the United States, Canada, and for the first time, Puerto Rico.
As a 2023 Grosvenor Teaching Fellow, Ms. Mochon had the opportunity to explore some of the world's most beautiful and remote destinations aboard Lindblad Expeditions' state-of-the-art expedition vessels. This experience allowed her to enhance her geographic knowledge through exciting hands-on, field-based learning that Kate can share with her students, community, and professional network back home.
Ms. Mochon’s teaching philosophy revolves around utilizing myth, art, science, and history to highlight universal themes that connect all of us, no matter where we come from. She encourages her students to respond to their world with confidence, respect, and curiosity while guiding them to understand the complexity and prevalence of visual culture.
When asked about the impact of this experience on her teaching, Ms. Mochon shared, "My experience as a 2023 Grosvenor Teaching Fellow extends my class out into the world- connecting the theory and practice of what we do in North Berwick with the beautiful and unknown places of our planet. When we learn how alike we are alongside learning about our differences, it helps us to communicate and build respect in order for us to collectively engage in making change to protect each other and our planet. More importantly, when my students see me work towards a big goal- they see it is not always instant- nor is it always impossible!”
Ms. Mochon’s expedition not only broadened her horizons but also served as an inspiration to her students. She showed them that when you work hard towards a big goal, amazing things can happen!
On her trip, Ms. Mochon experienced stunning landscapes, met people from different cultures, and spotted fascinating wildlife exclusive to some of the world's most remote regions. She was accompanied by Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic experts who shared their knowledge and insights. This life-changing field-based experience will influence her classroom for years to come, shaping and inspiring countless students to become stewards of the planet.
