Title I Information
Parents,
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year. We are so delighted to have your child at Parkview. In years past during Open House we had several documents to give you and some for you to sign. The past couple of years required some creativity in that process and we are being allowed to do this digitally again this year. This makes it quick and easy for you to complete. Please click the link below. It opens up a Google Form and you will provide your name, your child’s name, and answer a few questions as you read a couple of attached documents. This is part of a requirement we have as a Title I school. We truly appreciate you taking the time to read and answer the questions in this document.
If you have any questions, you may contact Chelsea Schowe (Math Coach/Academic Intervention Coordinator) at cschowe@gccschools.com or Heather Gianfagna (Principal) at hgianfagna@gccschools.com.
We truly appreciate your timely completion of this form. Thank you!
Student Handbook
A copy of the 2024-205 Parkview Student Handbook can be found at pvms.gccschools.com. Here are a few reminders:
- Daily attendance of all students who are enrolled in the Greater Clark County Schools is required in accordance with state law and corporation policy. Students are expected to attend school regularly in order to derive maximum benefits from the instructional program. The responsibility for regular school attendance by a student rests with the student and his/her parent or legal guardian. If a student will be absent, please call 812-288-4844 and ask for the attendance secretary.
- If your student will be taking medication during the school day, the medication form must be completed with school nurse. All medication must be brought to the (front/health) office and taken there. All medication, which includes over-the-counter, cough drops, and prescription medications, must have a written physician’s order.
- Students are allowed to bring cell phones to school, but must keep them turned off and put away. Parkview Middle is an “Away for the Day” school. You can find more information on this at https://www.awayfortheday.org/. Students needing to call home during the school day must do so in the main office during lunch or in the classroom with his/her teacher’s permission. Cell phones are never to be used to take photos or videos at school. Students failing to abide by this policy will result in school consequences.
Arrival and Dismissal
- Doors open at 7:45am
- Tardy bell rings at 8:00am (students must be in class to be marked present)
- Breakfast served from 7:45-8:00am
- Dismissal begins at 2:45pm
Anyone arriving after 8:00am or leaving prior to 2:30pm will be counted as tardy.
The image below is the traffic pattern for cars, busses, and walkers at Parkview. Just a reminder that the front of Parkview Middle School (Brigman Avenue) should not be used to park or drop off students from 7:30-8:00am and 2:30-3:00pm, unless the student is in one of our specialized programs (Vogel, Leanhart, Leonard, and Bannis).

Support for Lunch Fees
This form helps families and secures Title funds for Parkview Middle School.
21st Century Scholars
The 21st Century Scholars program is a wonderful opportunity for eligible students to get four years of free college tuition. All 8th grade students that are enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program are automatically enrolled in the 21st Century program as well. However, I know we have students that are eligible for free/reduced lunch that don’t complete the application process, so I want to make sure everyone is aware of this opportunity. Please go to the link below to see the income eligibility guidelines and the enrollment process. If you feel your student may be eligible, click on ‘Create an Account’ in the green box. Once you have created an account, apply for the program. If you need any help at all, please reach out and I will be happy to assist. Thank you.
