The New Principal of Faubion School
Dear staff and families:
I am pleased to announce that Anthony Bromberg will be the new principal of Faubion School.
Anthony is coming to Faubion from PPS’s ACCESS Academy, where he has served as principal for the last three years. While at ACCESS, he facilitated a mission, vision, and core values reimagining for the first time in the school’s 20-year existence, involving students, staff, families and other stakeholders in a process that centered student voice, equity, and cultural responsiveness. He also implemented a school continuous improvement plan that eliminated stubborn achievement gaps, supported and coached educators through multiple new curriculum implementations, and increased enrollment in historically underserved student populations.
Prior to leading ACCESS Academy, Anthony worked as an assistant principal at Gullett Elementary School and at Mendez and Murchison middle schools in the Austin Independent School District (AISD). At both Mendez and Murchison, he strove to promote equity through behavior management systems and move the campus cultures toward restorative practices. He also spearheaded professional development sessions in social emotional learning (SEL) frameworks and strategies, resulting in a more supportive and inclusive climate for both staff and students.
Anthony began his career as an English language arts teacher at Bailey Middle School and Akins High School in Austin, Texas. As a classroom instructor devoted to positive, progressive change, he created an original curriculum founded on SEL principles and piloted AISD’s mindfulness program. And his work in preparing students for college and career readiness garnered him the Superintendent’s Award of Excellence.
Anthony earned his BA in English literature from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his M.Ed. with principalship emphasis from the University of Texas at Austin.
Please join me in congratulating Anthony Bromberg on being named principal of Faubion School.
Cordially,
Dr. Jon Franco
Chief of Schools
