Haunted Fest
Haunted Festival 2017 Friday, October 13, 2017 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
New this year, for each shift you volunteer the night of haunted festival you will receive 5 tickets good for games, food and drinks!!!
Haunted Festival is the Blue Ash Elementary PTO’s largest annual family fun night. Many volunteers will be needed to set up, run games, activities, and tables during Haunted Fest! We would love your help by working one shift such as running a game or selling food. We need 300 volunteers to make this festival run smoothly! Adults and children in 5th grade or higher are welcome as volunteers. This is a wonderful opportunity for grandparents, aunts, uncles, and students 5th grade and up. Choose the shift and assignment you want and you may select to work with a friend. We can’t wait to see you! If you have questions please contact Debbie Flinchpaugh-Kirby at baevolunteers@gmail.com

Bombard the yard! There is still time to sign up - Help us reach our goal of 100!
At Sycamore Schools it is part of our mission to address the needs of the total student, teaching not only to the mind but to the heart. To this end, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders at Blue Ash Elementary are undertaking a school service project that will overlap with curriculum standards in their reading and writing classes. On November 17th, 20th, and 21st they will be heading into the community to show their appreciation and lend a helping hand. Our goal is to go to as many houses as possible and get to work serving others. Do you need raking completed at your house? Just LEAF it to us! Do you know of someone else who lives in Blue Ash and may be in need of this service? You can fill this out on their behalf! There is no limit to the number of times you can submit.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact Jim Weeks or Jennifer Kolde at 513-686-1710.

Aviation Station Homework Sessions
The Aviation Station bus will be parked in front of Kohls (on Hunt Road) on Thursdays, from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. to provide homework assistance and STEAM activities for any student who has permission from parent to attend.
There have been questions regarding the process, so we want to try to clarify for you.
Frequently asked questions:
Does the district provide transportation to the location?
NO. Students will dismiss as normal, however, parents must complete the permission slip and mark whether their child is allowed to walk to and from the Aviation Station bus, or if the parent will be providing transportation. If a student shows up to the Aviation Station without a permission slip completed, we will need to send them back home. District staff will support students while they are at the bus, but they will not walk them to and from home.
Do students have to stay for the entire session?
NO, however students must be picked up no later than 5:55.
Do parents have to stay with their children?
NO. Parents are not required to stay, but are welcome to. Parents must complete the permission form providing their contact information during this time in case there is a need to contact them.
Do parents have to complete the permission slip for their child to attend?
YES. Children will not be able to participate without a signed permission slip. Parents can complete this permission slip through their school or can complete the form at the Aviation Station.
Do I have to complete the form each time?
NO. Once you have submitted the form, the information will be placed on our spreadsheet and will show that you have given your child permission throughout the year. If at any time you wish to change this permission, please contact the school and we will make the change for you.
Is this the only time my child will be able to access the Aviation Station bus?
NO! The bus will be visiting Blue Ash Elementary throughout the year, and teachers and students will visit during the school day to engage in fun and exciting Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math activities!
What does my child need to bring?
Students should bring their homework, their student planner, information regarding how to log in to their various electronic educational resources (Compass Learning, Raz Kids.... info should be in students' planner), and bring a good attitude for working with others!
What happens if it rains?
The bus will be in the lot rain or shine, however there is limited space on the bus. If we reach capacity, we will not be able to allow additional children onto the bus.
