- MDUSD Fentanyl Awareness Event at Foothill Middle School- 6pm
MDUSD will hold a Fentanyl Awareness and Saving a Life Event on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Foothill Middle School. We will share the latest information and data about the dangers of fentanyl and train families and students how to recognize an opioid overdose and administer Narcan/Naloxone to try to save a life. Each adult who registers will receive a free Naloxone Kit. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to get the tools you can use to save a life. Use this link to register for this event
This is not new information but a much-needed repeat message. Please understand all of these rules and procedures are for student safety.
Please drive slowly, look around for children, and adhere to these:
Speed limit surrounding the school is 20 mph.
When exiting driveways on campus NO Left Turns during school hours (7:30-3pm).
Parking: No parking in crosswalks/red zones; only designated spots.
Staff Parking Lot: NO DROP-OFF OR PICK-UP. THIS is for our school buses ONLY.
If you should need to pick up your child within the day if the Staff lot is open you may use the Visitor spots (under the solar panels by the main entrance). IF the cones are blocking the parking lot entrances park in the drive-through circle.
Other Areas for drop off and pick-up: Via Monte & Deerpark Drive.
Please respect the rules of the road and our neighbors.
A few neighbors have kindly asked to remind you of the following:
- Don't make U-Turns in their driveways. This is especially dangerous for our students who are walking and those on bikes.
- Don't block driveways.
- Children should understand private property and not sit on lawns, fences, or benches without the owner's permission.
- Please also remind your students to wear their helmets at all times when riding or scooting to school and to look both ways when crossing the street.
Report violators to Walnut Creek Police Department: 925-943-5844
Important Information Regarding Chromebooks
Students will need to bring their Chromebooks - to school for daily use. We will NOT have extras in the classroom for students to use so it is IMPERATIVE they remember to charge and bring each day.
It is recommended that families purchase insurance for their student's Chromebooks. The cost is $22.95 https://securranty.com/mdusd here is a link to purchase insurance.
Incoming 6th Grade Students
MDUSD requires all parents/guardians of incoming 6th Grade students to provide, in person, three (3) forms of documentation to verify residency within their home school residential area. Intra-district Transfers also need to provide proof of residency. This is required EVEN if you have a student already enrolled at Foothill.
Proof of Residency occurs at first enrollment and again for 6th Grade & 9th Grade. This link has a chart of what is needed to complete this process.
If your student will NOT be attending Foothill this fall, please let us know. Please email wheelerb@mdusd.org with any questions. (925) 939-8600
School Donations at the Foothill MS Webstore
Foothill Middle School appreciates the support families provide through donations for our classes. All Donations are collected through the Foothill MS Webstore, found at that link or on our homepage.
- Donations provide materials, which include licensing, software programs, and supplies; this is especially true of elective classes.
- All the materials (whether tangible or not) are designed to aid students in learning and developing their skills.
- These are ONLY for Foothill MS students. Donations do not feed into the District funds.
- All donations are tax deductible (tax ID#68-0091157). Any contribution is greatly appreciated.
