Fall Break is Upon Us
Good Afternoon!
I pray that this newsletter finds you well as we head into Fall Break. Personally, my first quarter as principal is in the books, and I am extremely proud of our students and teachers thus far in the school year. We have quite a few new students and staff members, and I feel that everyone has settled in well. Our teachers have met the demands of educating the whole person, and the students have met the demands of their rigorous coursework.
We spend time reading from the Rule of St. Benedict each Friday at Morning Assembly. We have hit on many topics, but Humility has been a point of emphasis. In his rule, St. Benedict states that "the first degree of humility is obedience without delay, which comes naturally to those who cherish Christ above all." We have been emphasizing that, and the students have done well in being "obedient without delay." Pictured above is some of our Altar Servers enjoying some time before Mass with Father Wood. We are grateful for our amazing Pastor! He has them trained well in being "obedient without delay!"
It has been an action packed 1st quarter, and I'm sure our students and staff are looking forward to a relaxing long weekend. Fall Break is a great time to reset and prepare for the 2nd quarter. We are finishing up our testing today and tomorrow. We will start the 2nd quarter when we return to the classroom on Wednesday, October 18th.
Picture day is October 19th. We will wear our Mass Uniforms for pictures. Order forms will be sent home with your child(ren) today and tomorrow.
We have exciting news about the new Parental Choice Tax Credit! We have scheduled some dates for mandatory informational meetings for parents. There is a button below to view the information that is available at this point. We anticipate that the Tax Commission will provide us with the final rules (hopefully!) by next week, so we have changed the dates for the information meetings to October 23rd & October 26th, both at 6:30pm. Both meetings will cover the same material. It is very important that you attend one of these meetings. Thank you in advance!
REMINDERS:
- Early dismissal again tomorrow (PK 11:30am / K 11:45am / 1st - 8th 12:00pm)
- No school mass tomorrow
- Middle School Parents: If your child is being confirmed and is attending the Holy Fire Confirmation Retreat on October 28th, please turn your permission slip in if you have not already. Permission slips are due by October 20. Even if your child is not being confirmed, or is already confirmed, this is going to be a great event for all middle school students. We highly recommend that all middle school students attend if possible!
- World's Finest Chocolate fundraiser is extended to October 19th. Sales are going great!
- St. Vincent DePaul Society Food Drive runs from 9/27 - 11/1. Please consider sending your child(ren) to school with a few non-perishable food items to donate.
- Please plan to attend one of our mandatory parent meetings on October 23rd or October 26th.
School Mass & Rosary
NO MASS TOMORROW.
We will have Liturgy of the Word at 9am on Thursday, October 19th. School Mass will resume on Thursday, October 26th. Rosary will resume on Wednesdays at 2:30pm after break. Thank you to those who have prayed with us. If you have time, we would love to have you!
Thanks for reading our Falcon Newsletter, and thank you for your continued prayers and support! Have a great Fall Break!
