USDA & MDE
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) recently announced a Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (S-EBT) program to begin in the summer of 2024.
The S-EBT program provides families with school-aged children eligible for the free or reduced-price category from an approved application $40 per month per child ($120 total) during the summer months to purchase healthy foods with funds on EBT cards.
Students must have an approved Application for Educational Benefits by May 15 to receive the benefit. Please ensure that your correct contact information is updated in ParentVue prior to that deadline as well.
If your family needs access to this program, or any other educational benefits, please visit ahschools.us/freereduced to complete an application. For more information visit the MDE website.

From the Desk of our School Social Worker
"Metro by T-Mobile is committed to bridging the digital divide for students in kindergarten through 12th grade across the country, through their Project 10Million initiative. This year, through our partnership with Metro by T-Mobile, and as our National Internet Connectivity sponsor, we are supporting teachers and their classroom by sharing Project 10Million with them. Through the program, qualifying students receive FREE mobile hotspots that provide FREE internet access in the classroom and at home for FIVE years.
The Digital Divide, defined as the gap that exists between those who have reliable internet access and devices and those with very limited access or none at all, impacts 1 in 4 students across the country. This equates to between 15 to 16 million students K-12 who aren’t able to access class during days of e-learning or for homework.
Through Metro by T-Mobile’s Project 10Million, students kindergarten through 12th grade can receive access through the click of a button—it’s that easy—and important."

From Our Volunteer Services Coordinator
THANK YOU to everyone who has volunteered at Adams this year. We greatly appreciate your partnership. You brighten our days! Field trip season is just getting started, then there's Track & Field Day on May 17th, so it's not too late to get involved.
Do you have time to hang art?
Mrs. Phipps would like some help hanging artwork created by our students throughout our school. If you can help with this (climbing a step stool and manning a stapler is involved), please sign up here. The artwork will be ready to hang April 15-18.
REMINDER: If you are interested in chaperoning your child's field trip, you will need to fill out Adams Elementary Volunteer Forms for this year. Please communicate with your child's teacher if this is something you are interested in.

Soccer Program – After School and Evening Options
This soccer program provides an organized, entertaining and educational sports experience. We believe youth sports should be about more than skills and scores. While teaching kids to play the sport is important, we also develop character by teaching sportsmanship values and celebrating players who demonstrate these values. The mission is to help kids succeed in life through sports.
