Welcome!
We want to introduce two new staff members to JMS!
Ms. Kacee Steinbeck is joining our SLC classroom. She has years of experience within JISD and is now bringing that experience to JMS. We are so excited to have her with us. She is already working hard and getting to know all of her students.
Ms. Regina Phillips Spencer recently moved to our area and will be joining our math team! She brings experience in teaching math, she has served as a math department lead, and has a wealth of knowledge. She will be stepping into her new role at JMS this week.
Please join me in welcoming both of these ladies to JMS. We are truly blessed to have them on our team.

Climate Survey
Recently our district sent out a climate survey for parents and students. The survey results are completely anonymous and will help JISD to make improvements and grow as a community and school district. For your convenience I am including both links below. One is for parents and one is for students. We appreciate you taking a few moments to complete the survey.
This Weather
So, we went to the softball fields yesterday to watch my granddaughter. We started with freezing cold wind, then got up to about 77 degrees and then it dropped again. Crazy! I read a meme earlier last week that said something like, "Six more weeks of winter for everyone, except Texas, you just do your own thing." I couldn't agree more - this weather is nuts.
Please make sure you are staying bundled up and staying warm. We have been plagued with quite a bit of illness and I want to make sure that our students are taking care of themselves. Please encourage them to wash their hands regularly, take their vitamins, if they are running a fever - please have them stay home.
The wind chill is going to have temperatures pretty low this week. We will be regularly checking the temperatures with wind chill factored in and be bringing in students from outside when the temperatures drop. In the event of excessive rain we will open the doors by the gyms to get students inside in the mornings and release from that area in the afternoon if the rain continues.
A couple of times last week I found students sitting outside long after school had been released. We understand that things happen and sometimes it's difficult to pick them up within a timely manner. If something comes up and you can't pick up your students we ask that you please make arrangements for someone to pick them up within a timely manner. We've had a couple nights last week where students were not picked up until almost two hours after school had been dismissed.
If you have any questions please let us know.
Thanks everyone!
