SAMUEL V. CHAMPION HIGH SCHOOL
BACK TO SCHOOL UPDATE - July 7, 2024

CAMPUS NEWSLETTER - March 17th
It’s ALWAYS a great day to be a CHAMPION CHARGER!
We hope you enjoyed time with your families over Spring Break and are ready for an AMAZING spring semester! There are so many things to celebrate on and off campus. Our incredible robotics team had an amazing weekend, our Boerne Champion AFJROTC Aerial Drone Team crushed their first competition placing second overall and receiving the Judge’s award, Champion Theatre swept the UIL Zone Contest with a first place win and first time ever to win both Top Performer Awards along with All Star Casting and Top Technician, Charger Band had a great performance at Universal Studios, and many, many more accomplishments we try to celebrate each week! We can’t wait to see what these students go on to accomplish in life! They are moving mountains everyday and working to be the best they can be.
I’d like to share a portion of a book that was given to me by Mr. Kolar, our District Teacher of the Year for 2024. I am grateful for the teachers and staff at Champion that frequently take the time to share things and ideas that collectively make us better! In the book, the author reflects on feedback and how to give feedback to others in a way that is genuine. We know how valuable feedback is to our students, parents, families and community. In the book he states: “Here is a safe place to give effort.” / “You are part of this group.” / “This group is special; we have high standards here.” / “I believe you can reach those standards.” ~ Daniel Coyle
Our hope is that your children not only hear these phrases, but genuinely feel that they are part of Champion High School, they are safe, and that we believe they can reach their highest potential! It will be our daily mission to ensure that they do. Additionally, next week, guest speaker, Mr. Stephen Mackey will join us and visit with our Seniors. He will be speaking with them about goals, future plans, and how important it is to invest in themselves!
Things to remember:
- ID’s are to be worn at all times. Student safety is our first priority!
- Dress code is enforced on campus.
- Attendance is of utmost importance! 9th grade is at 95.3%, 10th grade attends at 95.4%, 11th grade at 94.4% and 12th grade attendance is only at 92%. Seniors, we need you here everyday please. This week’s winner for the highest attendance rate is the Sophomore Class! Congratulations!
Please remember to check out the upcoming testing dates, performance dates, games, competitions, and meetings that students participate in each day. All of this can be found in the newsletter.
Thank you again, for trusting us with your children. We are grateful.
WE ARE CHAMPION!
