Math – May 9th: Students will select responses to test items from a list of possible answer options.
ELA – Reading-May 14th: Students will read a passage and select responses to test items from a list of possible answer options.

📚 Language Arts & Social Studies
📖 Reading: We are reviewing our Close Reading Strategy and all the skills we have learned all year to prepare for the questions we will be asked about what we read on SCReady! We are taking practice assessments and reviewing in many other ways.
📝 Writing: We are reviewing most-missed items from their most recent TDAs to prepare for the TDA on SCReady. HOMEWORK THIS WEEK: will be an at-home TDA. The packet students will receive on Monday will include an overview of how they can break it down each day. It also has the passage to read, the prompt to answer, and the rubric they will use to check their writing. We will look at it in class Friday. This is a GREAT opportunity for you to truly see the process we have used all year in class and spend time supporting your student as they prepare to write a TDA for SCReady the following week.
🗺️ Social Studies: A few students still need to present their natural disaster community plans. We are beginning a new unit on the four themes of geography (the big ideas that have guided the specifics of what we have learned all year long). The four themes are: places and regions, environment and resources, human systems, and applied geography. Students will use these themes to work in class to create an imaginary place as our last major grade of the quarter for social studies!
✍️ Grammar: Review grammar skills for the year at home before SCReady!
💭 Vocabulary: Your student is working through their Flocabulary vocabulary pathway at their own pace in class. They will take quizzes as they finish units (at least 4 throughout Quarter 4).
Homework:
1. Read at home each night and study!
2. At-home TDA
3. Optional: use the "Quizizz" link on Canvas homepage and Canvas ELA/Social Studies Modules to review for quizzes and tests.

✏️ITEMS NEEDED & WISH LIST📝
💙New Program Seeks Classroom Supply Donations💙
The Clover LEAF Foundation, in collaboration with the Clover School District Teacher Forum, is pleased to announce the creation of Classroom Central–a community-supported resource for providing teachers and staff with additional materials for classroom needs.
Former School Board Member and Clover LEAF Board Member Sherri Ciurlik started this project seven years ago by harvesting books and classroom supplies from teachers who were retiring, leaving the profession or changing their teaching assignment. She made these materials available to beginning teachers during their orientation at the District Resource Center each fall.
What’s different now is that the Clover LEAF Foundation and Teacher Forum are teaming up to expand support for the program beyond teacher donations. Clover LEAF, for example, has partnered with Office Depot to obtain additional support.
We are also reaching out to the community during spring cleaning season with a list of needs for Classroom Central:
· Construction Paper/Card Stock
· Multipurpose Paper
· Lamps/Lights
· Flexible Seating
· School Supplies
· Notebook Paper
· Trays
· Storage Items
· Decorative Items
· Clean, Reusable Household Items (shoe boxes, cereal boxes, Paper Towel Rolls, etc.)
· Manipulatives
· Rugs/Carpets
· Poster Board/Tri-Fold Board
· Holiday Items
· Bins/Buckets
· Clothing
· Gift Cards
· Cleaning Supplies
· Hygiene Supplies
· Craft/STEAM Supplies
· Books
· Snacks
· Prizes
· Furniture
· First-aid Supplies
If you have materials you would like to donate to Classroom Central, please contact Sherri Ciurlik at sciurlik@aol.com or Jacquelyn George at Jacquelyn.George@Clover.k12.SC.US.
Classroom Central is looking forward to celebrating its first official supply distribution to teachers in the fall, so look for upcoming details about a ribbon-cutting ceremony for this exciting new program.
