November 11, 2024
Dear Families,
A very big thank you to all our students and families that donated food to our annual PV Food Drive! Our school community donated 6523 total items to our Franklin community partner, Faith Presbyterian Church’s food pantry. What a great way to kick off the holiday season by partnering with the community and giving back to others. All our classrooms did an amazing job participating and making cards with well wishes to also be handed out. Ms. Sauer’s 5th grade class led our building with approximately 1,700 items donated and helped pack the vehicles with all the donations on Friday.
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held the next two Thursdays on November 14th and 21st. In addition to conferences, we have created a road map (see image below) of other places and spaces within the building to stop by when you’re in the building.
Book Fair (11/14 only) - located in Room 224
Specialists - Art, PE, and Music will all be in their respective spaces and would love to share what your child is doing in their classes.
Library - our instructional coach, Mrs. Gordy, will be in the library with various parent resources for supporting your child and their learning at home.
Also in the library, a station will be set up to write a positive note to your child and/or their teacher.
Lost and Found - visit the lost and found to scoop up any items your child may have left behind at some point this fall (located by West Gym Parking lot doors).
We look forward to meeting with you in the next two weeks!
Sincerely,
Ashley Imperiale, Principal
DRESS FOR THE WEATHER
All students are required to go outside for recess daily unless the windchill is below zero or it is raining. When the temperature is below 50 degrees students are required to wear jackets/coats. Please make sure your student is dressed properly for the cold weather with hats, gloves, scarves, boots and snow pants. Snow pants and boots are required to be worn in order for students to play in the snow. Classrooms stay together as a group on a designated area of the playground - if your child's classroom is assigned a grassy area, this makes snow pants and boots essential.
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
Our Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held in November. Please click here to schedule a time to meet with your student's teacher(s).

3-WEEK SABER PRE-SCHOOL BY FHS CHILD II DEVELOPMENT IN DEC
The Franklin High School Child Development II students will be sponsoring “Saber Pre-school” for children ages 3 to 5 on various days in December.
Saber Pre-school is designed for children ages 3 to 5 who are toilet trained and ready to experience a supportive and enriching pre-school environment. The student teachers prepare daily lesson plans that not only provide opportunities for the Little Sabers to develop socially, but also to enhance their kindergarten readiness skills. The Saber Pre-school program offers a truly excellent experience for both our big and small students.
Class time will be from 9:00 to 10:15 am and tuition is $20 to cover the cost of materials and snacks for the entire 3 weeks. Saber Pre-school will include story time, large and small group activities, free time, songs and other fun activities. Pre-registration is required. Registration closes when we hit 25 participants or by Friday, November 15th at the latest. If you know someone who has a child ages 3-5, please help us by sharing this message to them!

FHS FALL PLAY: “ALMOST, MAINE” 11/14-11/17
The FHS Fall Play is fast approaching with shows taking place Thurs 11/14 through Sun 11/17. For tickets and show information, please visit the Saber Center website here.
Show Description: Welcome to Almost, Maine, a place that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States. It’s almost in Canada. And it’s not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it almost doesn’t exist. One cold, clear, winter night, as the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine, find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.
