My name is Rhonda Rivers, and I am so excited to be the Austin Parkway Elementary School Counselor! I will be supporting our little Sailors by teaching skills and providing resources that promote their social-emotional, academic, and career success.
I plan to visit all classes in the next few weeks for a counselor introduction lesson. In the meantime, kids will see me greeting them in the halls and checking in on them in their classrooms. I can’t wait to get to know all of our students!

Does your child seem exceptionally bright and far more advanced when compared to peers? Consider referring your child for testing to see if he/she will qualify for the FBISD Gifted and Talented Program. FBISD is accepting GT referrals online from August 8th- September 27th. Mr. Joe has joined the Austin Parkway Elementary team as our new security guard! We are excited to welcome him to our Sailor family. Mr. Joe was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He already considers Austin Parkway his home away from home! We are confident that Mr. Joe will be a valuable asset to our school community and help ensure the safety of our students and staff. Display your child's car rider tag in your windshield during dismissal. If the assigned car rider tag is not displayed, you will be asked to park and report to the front office with a valid ID. You may request extra car rider tags at the front office.
All students are assigned a car rider number even if they never use the car rider line at dismissal.
When It Rains
If it is lightly raining, students will be released at 3:25 p.m. If there is heavy rain, thunder and/or lightning, we will not release students until it is safe to do so. Please do not congregate at the exterior doors.
Late Pick-Ups
School hours are 8:05 a.m. - 3:25 p.m. After school dismissal is usually over by 3:45 p.m. If you are late, park and come into the building to sign out your child(ren).
Dismissal Changes
Please send dismissal change requests to the attendance clerk at AttendanceAPE@fortbendisd.com before 2:00 p.m. There will be no exceptions. We will not release your child(ren) after 3:00 p.m. due to dismissal procedures.
