The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and remember friends and family members who have died.
LAHS Spanish teacher Isabel Duque also joined in the celebration.

For Parents and Guardians
Elementary Edition
Last month, Los Alamos Public Schools (LAPS) hosted a community event titled “Drugs, Sex, and Phones: What Families Need to Know About Smartphones and Social Media” aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of technology misuse among teens and preteens. With a focus on the impact of social media, cell phone use, and their connections to bullying, drug access, and other risky behaviors, the event featured speakers from the school district and the Los Alamos Police Department.
LAPS invites parents and caregivers of elementary aged children to attend a follow up event on Nov. 14 from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm in the Mountain School Gym. Light food will be served and childcare provided for children in pre-K-6th grade.
Community Conversation
Join us for a special community conversation designed for the whole family on Thursday, November 21 from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm at the SALA Event Center
Family Literacy Month
Join us in celebrating Family Literacy Month and Family Engagement Month by recognizing parents' and caregivers' vital role in building strong readers and writers. Throughout the month, we will share popular resources from the National Center on Improving Literacy to help improve literacy at home.
Free Course: Understanding Evidence-Based Literacy, the Family Edition
A five-lesson course for parents and families to learn how evidence-based literacy practices can support all children's literacy needs, complete with practical examples.
