Superintendent's Message
Superintendent’s Message
Greetings Lakeland Families!
We are nearing the end of another great year! May is always a whirlwind of activity at all eleven of our schools. I hope you have a chance to attend events at your child’s school. If you have elementary students, they will not have a regular school day on May 29th. This is our celebration of learning day. Your principals will be reaching out to you with information about the schedule for the day. The date has been set aside to provide opportunities for your child and his/her teacher to share your student’s successes and challenges. I know all six schools have a lot of fun activities planned for the day.
Kindergarten Round Up will be on Monday, May 19th at all six elementary schools. If you have an incoming kindergartener, please stop by your child’s school to begin the registration process. Your child will have an opportunity to meet the teachers and see the school. If you have any questions, please contact the office at your elementary school!
As part of the process to cut next year’s budget so we could run the levy at a reduced rate, we cut $500,000 from the transportation budget. This required us to shorten time and distance on routes. It will be important that you make sure to register your student for transportation before school starts so you have accurate information regarding stop locations and pickup and drop off times. If you have any questions, feel free to give us a call.
The levy election is quickly approaching; May 20. We have our last three Town Hall Meetings in the next few weeks.
Wednesday, April 30th from 5:30 - 7:00 at Spirit Lake Elementary
Tuesday, May 6th from 5:30 - 7:00 at Twin Lakes Elementary
Wednesday, May 14th from 5:30 - 7:00 at the Rathdrum Community Senior Center
If you have any lingering questions regarding the levy and you aren’t able to attend one of the meetings listed, please contact either Jessica Grantham or Lisa Arnold at the District Office. We are happy to help!
We’re continually working to improve our district website to better meet the needs of our community. To help make it more user-friendly and accessible, we invite you to take a few minutes to complete our Lakeland School District Financial Website Community Survey.
Your feedback is important and will directly guide future updates. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us!
Warm Regards,
Lisa Arnold

Lakeland's Ziya Munyer was awarded the 5A/6A Volleyball Player of the Year and the 5A/6A Female Athlete of the Year!!!
At the North Idaho Hall of Fame Banquet April 12th, Timberlake's Malia Miller and Caius Tebbe were awarded the Hagadone Character Award. Malia also won the 1A-4A basketball female athlete of the year and Caius won the 1A-4A track and field male athlete of the year. Lakeland Jt. School District Athletes had a total of 21 nominations this year! We are so proud of all of our Lakeland School District Athletes nominated this year!
35 of our Timberlake and Lakeland High School students were awarded scholarships at the Leadership Coeur d'Alene- CDA Chamber of Commerce scholarship breakfast.
The CdA Chamber gave each of our students $1,000 and The Coeur d'Alene Tribe matched that for any student pursuing higher education in Idaho and $500 for students going out of state. The Tribe also gave another $2,000 to students going into the field of education. The Lakeland Jt. School District expresses sincere appreciation to the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce and businesses associated with the chamber as well as The Coeur d'Alene Tribe for their generous scholarship contributions benefitting our students.
All totaled, our students received close to $80,000 in scholarship money. These donations will significantly aid in their pursuit of higher education!

More updates being done to our facilities at no cost to the Lakeland community through the Avista Utilities energy rebate program. Currently, they are replacing the 34 year old lighting fixtures at Corbit Field at Lakeland High School.
Lakeland Levy
If you haven’t already checked out the levy page on the district website, you might want to visit it. On the page, we have a levy calculator that will allow you to see exactly what the total cost of the supplemental levy will be for your family. This cost does not take into account any property tax relief applied by the state, which we anticipate will be around $2 million. The link to the levy website is here. If you have any questions, please reach out. We are happy to assist!
If anyone would like to sponsor the event, there is an attached sponsor flyer here.
