HITEON HIGHLIGHTS NEWSLETTER
August 20, 2019
PRINCIPAL MESSAGE
Dear Hiteon Families,
The Hiteon Staff is beginning to prepare for a new school year and welcoming all our students back for another productive year of learning! Many of you will remember that last May there was an unfortunate flood in our building. The flood left the primary wing and library areas with substantial water damage. The district has been working tirelessly this summer to do the needed build-back in these affected areas.
The build-back is underway but will not be entirely complete until later this Fall. Rest assure the building is dry, air quality good, and will be ready for the first day of school on Tuesday, September 3rd.
We want to thank the District for their responsive attention to our school. We also want to thank our community, students, and staff for persevering in a difficult situation.
Families will receive a mailing announcing class assignments next week. Our Back to School Information Packet will be sent out as well. This publication will be delivered electronically this year.
We are looking forward to seeing you all soon. Please, don’t forget to join us at our annual Meet Your Teacher/Drop Off Your School Supply Event on Friday, August 30th from 9:00 - 10:00 am. There will be a PTC Social in Hiteon’s backyard that day as well from 9:00 - 10:30am.
Warmly,
Meghan Warren, Principal
Jenny Read-Emslie, Assistant Principal
