Summer Highlights!
How was your summer? If you are not yet prepared to answer this question as you ease back into the new school year, you might want to reflect on the highlights that best capture your treasured summer break. While our CGEP team has been busy leading professional learning programs across the state, we have enjoyed hearing your stories about summer travels -- to Costa Rica because you were inspired by a book read by your middle school students; to Greenland because you are a Polar STEAM Fellow seeking to understand river discharge and hydroclimate dynamics; and to Ireland for explorations on foot with your best friend/teaching partner. We hope that your summer adventures -- near or far -- were fun, rejuvenating, and memorable. Even if you stayed close to home, you probably saw the world come together for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The stories of courage, persistence, pride, and team work took center stage as we watched with awe the amazing feats of these many athletes. Just as they set goals and worked diligently toward achievement, we know this is an important time of year for all teachers to set goals for their teaching and school year. Your work inspires and nurtures our future athletes, artists, writers, engineers, health care professionals, architects, ... and global citizens.
We wish for you a great year of learning, growth, and goal attainment. Remember that we are here to support you (and listen to your fantastic stories, too) and celebrate your many gold, silver, and bronze successes!
