Congratulations are in order! We are pleased to announce the well-deserved promotions of Lieutenant Rusty Todd and Sergeant Devan Franks to new positions within the Police Department.
Officers Tallen McCrary and Joshua Kitchens have made MSPD proud by graduating from the Law Enforcement Academy in Tuscaloosa. Officer Kitchens received the highest academic and physical fitness award, while Officer McCrary served as the Chaplain of their class. MSPD is dedicated to hiring officers who exhibit exceptional leadership and academic skills!
Please Don't Be Trashy!
Let’s talk about something really important—keeping our city clean and beautiful. We all know that trash can be a big issue. Not only is littering against the law, but it also makes our lovely city look uninviting. When trash is thrown out of car windows, it often ends up by the roadside, and when it rains, it can clog storm drains. This can lead to flooding and, even worse, the trash can end up in our rivers and streams via the retention ponds.
And let’s not forget about grass clippings! When grass is blown into the street or onto sidewalks, it not only looks messy but can also create a slippery hazard when it rains—especially for motorcycles, cars, and bicycles. Our city has rules in place to help prevent this, so let’s do our part to follow them.
Together, we can make a difference in keeping our city gorgeous. Your help is much appreciated!
