Soaring to WEEK 5

Thank you parents for a successful first month of school.


Thank you to all that attended Curriculum Night and our Title 1 Stakeholders Meeting. We had 79 parents to sign in. I also want to thank all of the parent volunteers that continue to come and support our school. Your presence is felt and appreciated!!


As we move forward to the 5th week of school, please be reminded that there is no school tomorrow.

  • KONA Ice Day, Wednesday, September 4th after student lunch
  • Coffee and Conversation, September 4th 9am-9:45am and 12:30pm-1:15pm
  • DEAR DAY, Friday, September 6th all day.
  • Grandparents Breakfast, Monday September 9th 7am-7:45am
  • Book Fair, September 9th -13th
  • International Dot Day, September 16th
  • Spirit Night, Bambinelli’s on September 17 from 5-9pm

Book Fair Alert: The Book Fair is Coming to HMES!

Get ready to dive into a world of books! Our Book Fair will be at Henderson Mill Elementary School from September 9-13. Shop in person to find your next great read, or browse our online selection anytime by scanning the QR code and using the code HMILL.

Every purchase supports our school, so come shop, support, and help foster a love of reading!

Volunteers Needed: We’ll be seeking volunteers shortly to help make the Book Fair a success. Stay tuned for more details!

ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL

  • School doors open at 7:00am and breakfast begins, to avoid traffic plan to arrive early!
  • After breakfast Intervention/Enrichment begins. This is a critical time for students that need support.
  • 7:30am breakfast ends
  • 7:40am Morning Announcements start
  • 7:45am Instruction begins
  • 2:15pm Dismissal begins, bus riders, van riders, walkers, car riders, and then aftercare are released
  • 2:30pm All students should be dismissed from classes.
  • 2:45pm Parents arriving after this time will have to pick their child up from aftercare and there is a drop in fee that you will be required to pay.
