Bulldog Beat September 23-30

Thank you to our amazing Valley families and staff who donated so much to the families in need. We are so thankful to have so many amazing community members willing to take the time and use their own funds to help others in our community who are living through the unthinkable due to Hurricane Helene. We are so blessed to be apart of such a wonderful and loving community.

Artwork was sent home with your students this week for the annual Artwork Fundraiser. If you or your family would like to participate, the following needs to be returned to Mrs. Gilliam: the artwork, 2 copies of the completed order form, and payment. All forms must be returned BEFORE October 18th. This is the Friday after Fall Break. If you place an order they usually arrive back to VIES around Thanksgiving. This way you will have beautiful artwork to be thankful or maybe a gift for a loved one!

VIES has become a partner with Kroger Community Rewards Program. If you shop Kroger please consider connecting your Kroger Rewards card to our organization number, so we can earn money as you shop.

To become a participant of the Kroger Community Rewards Program:

1. Visit the Kroger Website
2. Sign in to your Kroger account or Create Account
3. Search for "Valley Institute Elementary School" or our school ID number "TE287"
4. Click Enroll
5. Start Shopping!

October's Attendance Incentive!

If you student achieves excellent attendance for the month of October their name will be entered into a drawing for a chance to when a day pass to Hands on Discovery Center.

Make sure your students are present or that you are communicating with your child’s school regarding absences.

VIES is looking for parent volunteers to assist with various events and activities throughout the school year. If you are interested, please contact the school to learn more about the background check process and possible opportunities.

We have several ways to stay connected to your child's education and teachers. Every parent has access to ParentPortal which allows you to see grades and attendance. You can register on the county website if you have not already signed up or you can call the school and request your student's login information.

Every grade uses an app to maintain communication between parents/guardians and teachers. Please see the list below on which app you should download to stay connected to your student's teacher:

• Any transportation changes must be made by 2:20 PM to ensure safety of dismissal time.
