Dear Parents and Students,

It is hard to believe that we are just a few days away from the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year. We hope you've had a restful and relaxing summer break so far. We are excited about the upcoming school year and the many opportunities we will have to engage our students in LEADing at Moore Middle School! Additional details about the upcoming year will be provided soon. In the meantime, please review the important information below to help you prepare for the school year.

If you are new to the area and need to register your student for the 2024-2025 School Year, please call 678-226-7100 to set up a registration appointment at your earliest convenience. Registration is NOT necessary for the following students:

• Students who attended Moore Middle last year
• Students who completed 5th grade at Winn Holt or Lawrenceville Elementary

REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT TAKE PLACE DURING OPEN HOUSE/MEET YOUR TEACHER DAY (WEDNESDAY, JULY 31ST)

School to Home Communication

Please note that you may be missing critical information from our school and the district if you have not updated your contact information. Parents will not receive information in the following areas if the respective records are not up to date:

• Weekly School Newsletter sent to the email address listed in our student information system.
• Report Cards, letters, and other information sent to the mailing address listed in our student information system.
• Notifications from the district (text and call) sent to the phone number listed in our student information system.

We sent out our first official Parent Newsletter for the 24-25 School Year on Thursday, July 11th. Parents received this communication via email on the 11th and it was posted on the Moore Middle School website on Monday, July 15th. It is critical that all families have accurate contact information (mailing address, email address, and phone numbers) listed in order to stay informed and up to date regarding what is happening at Moore Middle School and within GCPS. If you did not receive the Parent Newsletter by email on July 11th (or the same newsletter that was re-sent on Friday, July 26th), it is likely that we do not have accurate contact information for you and that you will need to update your information as soon as possible. Please contact the school at 678-226-7100 for more information on updating your records. You may also update your contact information when you visit during our Open House on July 31st.

GCPS provides each student a Chromebook to be used for instructional purposes at school and at home throughout the school year. Students are expected to bring their assigned Chromebook and charging cable to school each day and to keep the device in good condition. Fines may be incurred for damaged/lost Chromebooks.

Students Returning to Moore Middle School

Students returning to Moore Middle School kept their assigned Chromebook at the end of the school year. Please make sure your student brings their assigned Chromebook and charging cable when they report to school on the first day (Monday, August 5th).

Students New to Moore Middle

Students new to Moore Middle School, including rising 6th graders, will receive a Chromebook on the first day of school (Monday, August 5th). Please note that the Chromebook will be checked out to each student in a similar manner to books checked out of the media center.

We ask all parents to review the Free/Reduced Lunch Program information included below. Please note that each year, parents must complete a new application form or their child will be required to pay the full cost of lunch. A new lunch application must be completed this summer in order for students to qualify for free or reduced cost lunch. The 2024-2025 Free and Reduced application opened on Monday, July 15th. We are highly recommending that all parents and students attend Open House this year. During our Open House, you will have the opportunity to learn your child's team assignment, meet your child's teachers, receive more information about supplies, and verify important information (address, phone number, medical information, immunizations, etc.). You will learn about bus routes, pre-pay for lunches, and receive additional information about the start of the school year.
