💚STEAM NEWS💚
Thank you so much for all of your cereal box donations. We have plenty for our upcoming "upcycling" projects and we can't wait to share what we create with them!
Moving forward, for the next few weeks, I will be accepting donations of:
Plastic bottle caps (from water bottles, soda bottles, etc.). Any color is fine.
Flat plastic (yogurt and soup lids, take out containers and lids, etc). It would be extra appreciated if they are rinsed and clean. 🙂
Students can drop them in the bin outside of the STEAM classroom. Thanks as always for supporting our STEAM program!

Thank you to all of the families who donated to our MLK Day of Service.
Your generosity always exceeds our expectations!
📵 CRSD CELL PHONE/SMART WATCH POLICY 📵
During the holidays, students may have received SMART WATCHES or other electronic devices as presents. While these devices are awesome; please keep in mind that all Electronic Devices are against our District Policy. Even if text/phone usage is disabled on these devices, many still have the capability of taking photos & accessing the internet, etc. As a result, they are not permitted to be worn during the school day.
All electronic devices should be turned off and remain in backpacks if they are brought to school.
Excerpt from CRSD/HCE Parent Handbook
The use of cell phones by students is prohibited during the school day or on the school bus (Section 1317.1 PA School Code). Students, who possess cell phones, must secure them in their backpacks/schoolbags throughout the school day, turned off, not silent or vibrate. This eliminates unnecessary interruptions to instruction.
Students may not use cell phones during lunch, recess or breaks. Cell phones are to remain off during the school day, including the school bus. In the event a student uses a cell phone (calling, texting, photographing or otherwise) or the phone rings, during the school day, the student will be asked to turn the cell phone off before releasing to staff. Following, the cell phone should be picked up by a parent/guardian/designated adult at their earliest convenience, in the main office during school hours. The Council Rock School District assumes no responsibility for cell phones or other electronic devices that are lost, stolen or broken.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE NURSE
Fall is here and winter is right around the corner. Along with the cool weather comes the unfortunate cold and flu season. If your child is sick, please keep him or her home to allow them to rest and recover until feeling themselves again. If fever is present, remain home until fever free for 24 hours without medication.
Please also remind your child to always remember to wash his or her hands. Studies have proven that hand washing (next to the flu shot) is the BEST way to avoid colds and flu. A healthy diet and sleep also keeps our immune system going, so be sure that your child gets plenty of rest.
LUNCH QUESTIONS???? & MENU
All questions regarding student lunch accounts should be sent to the Chartwells staff at www.HCECafeteria@CRSD.org. Click on the below link to preview the monthly menu and nutritional information.
