30 Minutes of Reading at Home for Our OBJ Students Everyday!
We want all our students at OBJ to spend 30 minutes reading at home each day. It’s a wonderful way to build strong reading skills, expand their imagination, and enjoy some quiet, focused time.
This small daily habit can make a big difference in fostering a love for reading and supporting the great work they’re doing in the classroom. Whether it’s a favorite novel, a graphic novel, or an engaging nonfiction book, every minute spent reading adds up!
Let’s work together to make reading a fun and valuable part of every day. Happy reading! 📚

Supporting Our School Family This Holiday Season
As the holiday season approaches, we know this time of year can bring moments of joy and, for some, added challenges. At our school, we’re committed to making sure every family feels supported and connected to the resources they might need.
If you or someone you know could use extra help this season—whether it’s with food, clothing, gifts, or anything else—please don’t hesitate to reach out. Our school counselors, family liaison, and admin team are here to connect you with resources in our community.
We understand that asking for help can be hard, but please know that we’re here to support you in a confidential and caring way. You are an important part of our school family, and we want this season to be as joyful and stress-free as possible for everyone.
Wishing you and your loved ones a season filled with warmth, peace, and togetherness.
Mrs. Marshall - Principal, Ms. G - Assistant Principal, and Mrs. Pingel - Dean of Students

Attendance Matters: A Key to Success and Growth
At the Bay, we are committed to helping every student grow academically, socially, and emotionally. One of the most important factors in that growth is consistent attendance and punctuality. Being present and on time not only maximizes learning opportunities but also fosters responsibility, reliability, and the life skills students need to succeed in their futures.
We encourage you to talk with your student about how punctuality plays a key role in personal and professional success. Here are a few ways to start the conversation:
Discuss Real-World Connections: Help your student understand that showing up on time is a habit that employers value. Punctuality builds trust and demonstrates dependability, qualities that open doors to opportunities.
Set Clear Expectations: Establish routines at home to ensure your student is ready to start each day on time. A consistent bedtime, organized materials, and a positive morning routine can make a big difference.
Focus on the Benefits: Frame attendance as a way to grow their skills, deepen their understanding, and achieve their goals. Being in class is more than learning—it’s about preparing for life.
Celebrate Progress: Acknowledge your student’s efforts to improve their punctuality and attendance, reinforcing that their hard work matters.
We’re here to support you and your student(s) in developing these essential habits. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure your student’s success. Together, we can prepare them for a future full of opportunities and achievement.
