NWEA TESTING NEXT WEEK
Please note the following testing information for your West student:
Students will take the reading and mathematics assessments this week during an alternate schedule. Students will test for ELA on Monday and Tuesday, and Mathematics on Wednesday and Thursday. The testing will run from 8:15-9:35 on testing days. Students will meet in their first hour to test. The specific bell schedule is listed above.
If your West Middle School child is participating in the 1:1 Chromebook program, they will be using their Chromebook for the MAP testing. As such, having a full charge on the device is expected when he/she comes to school each testing day.
Finally, the standard pre-test message to parents applies here – 1) Make sure that your student eats a healthy breakfast on the day of the testing; 2) Make sure that your child gets enough sleep on the night prior to the testing; and 3) Engage in some conversation about the upcoming test and what the results will mean for your student 4) Be on time to school as the testing begins first thing.

As always, if you have questions regarding this information, please feel free to contact me via e-mail (cheri.steckel@pccsk12.com) or phone (734.416.7599)

THE LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY FUNDRAISER IN MAY
During the month of May, West Middle School will be holding a fundraiser for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). LLS's work is focused in three areas: research toward treatments and cures, patient education, and support and advocacy for families fighting these diseases. Our last LLS fundraiser a couple years ago generated over $7,000, this year we hope to reach $10,000. Primetime classrooms will compete to see which can raise the most money, with fame, recognition, and a pizza lunch for the winning classroom.

88.1 THE PARK AUCTION
Quick Pass Car Wash will present the 88.1 the Park Auction on Saturday May 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Every half-hour you can bid on great items donated by local businesses including restaurant gift cards, sports memorabilia, golf outings and much more. Most importantly, all of the proceeds will benefit 88.1 the Park, our student radio program. This year's auction is especially important as the station is raising funds to renovate their studios.
Local businesses and residents still have time to support the student radio station by donating items. Businesses that donate can benefit from the exposure they will receive on 88.1 The Park. Most importantly, they will be helping a program that has impacted the lives of students and served the Plymouth-Canton community for 53 years. You can get more information by contacting Station Manager Bill Keith at 734-416-7732 or by email at billkeith@pccsk12.com.
