News from the Pirate Ship

Dear Pirate Families,

Monday, October 21 is the end of the first quarter of the year. We will be sending home printed report cards on Tuesday, October 29.

This week we will begin clubs and other student groups during Pirate Time. Now is a great time for your student to get involved.

Tuesday is a teacher workday and there is no school for students.

It's also College Week. Check out our Student Services site for college planning information. We invite students to join in our dress -up days, and on Friday, our juniors will participate in the CACRAO College Fair.

Senior parents, please take note of Early Bird pricing on cap and gown orders.

NC College Application Week will be held October 21-27, 2024. It is a yearly event where many of our state's public and private colleges/universities waive their application fees for incoming first year student applicants. Please note that applying to community colleges is always free! Learn more by going to CFNC's website. Applications are not free on the Common App website. If additional assistance is needed, please visit Student Services.

Beginning October 21, clubs will begin meeting during our daily Pirate Time. All students will watch our club video during Monday's Pirate Time, and we encourage all students to get involved in at least one club or student organization.

• CCP representatives will be on campus all day to assist students with registration.

While we await more direction on parent access, you can view grades and schedule through the Student Portal. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to implement this statewide change.
