The building, located on Highway 11, will provide a centralized space for Trussville City Schools’ (TCS) Central Office team which currently work in three separate buildings throughout the City of Trussville.
“Our school system is committed to providing board members, faculty and staff the tools necessary to ensure our students continue to receive an award-winning education,” said Dr. Pattie Neill, TCS superintendent. “The board of education’s new office building will serve as an important step towards our continued achievement of that goal, as it further will enhance our teams’ ability to communicate and collaborate – especially during a times of unprecedented challenges.”
State Representative Danny Garrett, who represents Trussville and serves as Vice Chair of the Alabama House of Representatives Education Ways and Means Committee, commented “Trussville City Schools will be one of the first systems in the state to utilize funds from the bond issue approved by the Legislature this past session. TCS is recognized as a top system in the state and is once again leading and setting a standard with this needed capital improvement. It is also great news that Blalock Building, a local contractor who has built previous projects for TCS and the city of Trussville, will be constructing this new facility that will become a central part of the downtown area.”
Construction of the office building will take approximately one year to complete.
