God bless our chaperones in the picture above who are going with 90 excitement filled 6th grade girls to this year's "Girl Power" event at the Brookshire's center! Although I was able to take a picture with them, they definitely let me know that I was not invited to participate! PTA volunteers needed

• Candygrams - This upcoming week the PTA is needing your help to sell "candygrams" during lunch. Please use this signup link to help out!
• 7th grade social - On February 20th we will have our 7th grade social and need your help as well! Please use this signup link to help out!

Transfers - The Tyler ISD transfer window will open February 1st and close March 1st. The website provides all details regarding transfers and you can pick up a transfer application in the front office starting February 1st and they are due by MARCH 1st. Just a reminder that ALL transfers must re-apply every year unless you have moved to the official Hubbard school zone. Response letters regarding your transfer application will be mailed out April 1st. Transfer applications should be turned in at the front office.

Cheer tryouts - Coming up this Thursday, February 13th at 5:30pm in the Hubbard Cafeteria we will have a parent informational meeting regarding cheer tryouts. At this meeting we will communicate all details regarding cheer commitments for the 25-26 school year. The tryouts will be the week of MARCH 10-14th. Students that are planning to transfer to Hubbard may also try out. Mark your calendar!

Leaving Early - If you are picking your child up early from school please do so by 3:15 p.m. We do not allow students to be checked out after 3:15 p.m. since this could hamper our dismissal procedures and ability to retrieve multiple students before the bell. The front office is closed between 3:15 and 3:45 p.m.

Yearbook pictures - In addition to looking for some 1st day of school pics, we would love to have any of your great student pictures for consideration in the yearbook! You can use this yearbook google folder to upload them in addition to the first day pics folder.

Spinal Screenings - Nurse Olivares wanted me to share this letter explaining spinal screenings coming up in February. It is required for our 14 year male students and 12 year old female students. This will take place via the nurse during P.E./athletic periods.

Panorama Survey - Coming up in February, our campus will participate in the "Panorama Survey" where your Husky will be able to provide feedback regarding their experiences with teachers/classrooms. This is completely anonymous and the campus is only given feedback data to provide for teachers. If you would NOT like your student to participate you can opt out with these forms English Version/Spanish Version. We will copies in the front office as well.

Connor Bundy finished 3rd in the 50 freestyle and 6th in the 50 Backstroke.

Lillian Edwards finished 5th in the 200 IM and 6th in the 100 Breaststroke.

Noah Geli finished 3rd in the 50 Backstroke and 7th in the 100 Freestyle.

Noah Roach finished 4th in the 200 IM and 5th in the 100 Breastroke.

In addition to some of the awesome MLK art work from last week, Mr. Pino in the media center has set up some awesome Black History Month book displays for our Huskies! He does a great job of making the media center impactful to our campus.

Shoutout to the Matthews for leading our Bible Club this week. Marla does a fantastic job assisting with our PTA and even a church partner as well!

In addition to delivering coffee on Tuesday to the staff, on Friday the Tin Can enjoyed making Tacos. They even had home made tortillas. Mr. Smiley made some custom salsa for them too!

The first 5th grade Preview Night in the new building was a great success! I enjoyed meeting some future Huskies and our students loved performing for them. Thank you to our PTA volunteers that came up and sold some awesome PACK swag to our future Huskies!

Thank you to Ms. Hawkins for helping lead our theater department and putting together the One Act Play. Come see it Tuesday night at 6pm in the Hubbard Cafeteria!

Last Sunday, I had the opportunity to go to Shiloh Road Church of Christ and personally thank their congregation for supporting the Husky PACK! Former Robert E. Lee football coach and current church elder, Gary Fleet, prayed over me, our teachers, and PACK students.

Tina Lawson was selected as our PACK teacher of the month. She does such a great job with our students and is always looking to serve the entire PACK!

This past week, KLTV interviewed Mason McClanahan and Mr. Smiley to discuss cell phones in schools. Remember that our policy is students should have phones off and in their backpacks during the instructional day. It has been nice to see students more engaged in their learning and off phones!

The new football field and track is coming along nicely. If you drive by it, you will see the scoreboard going up! We can't wait to play football HERE next year instead of Rose Stadium.

Due to some generous sponsors, the event below is now FREE for all middle school students.

Students and guardians, coming up soon, Nurse Olivares will be offering the official "STOP the Bleed" training for 7th/8th grade students during advisory class in the cafeteria. Students may sign up using this survey. The deadline to sign up is March 7th!
