Greetings Franklin Academy families,

Welcome to Summer Break!

Our last quarter always seems to go the faster than the other quarters and it's always the one I want to last longer. Yes, there's always a lot to do in the 4th quarter, but more than anything, it's the time we spend with our school community that I don't want to see come to an end. I thank you for your partnership this past year as you came along on our 'Flight to Excellence'; from the beginning of the year, we've said that, "The sky's the limit' and our students and staff rose to the occasion.

Before the school year ended on 6/10, we took some time to CELEBRATE our FLIGHT TO EXCELLENCE! We had an icee truck treat for our students and a coffee truck treat for our staff, as well as MYP celebration in the cafeteria, and grade level celebrations throughout the week. Loved celebrating our school community, included a couple pictures below to share their smiles!

Looking forward to 24-25...our theme is in the works...but start thinking OLYMPICS!

At the end of year, we accept nominations from our staff for Instructional and Non-Instructional Staff of the Year. This year's award recipients are...

Here is what his peers shared during nominations: He is the icon for building community. He is the first to help others, without being asked. Mr. Degen also has worked hard to enhance the appearance of our garden. This is all on top of working extremely hard to help his young mathematicians to flourish. He is always going above and beyond for every single soul in this building. Goes above and beyond for his students, and is always willing to learn. Degen goes above and beyond daily providing support inside and outside of the classroom.

Here is what his peers shared during nominations: He has done an incredible job in his role. We can see the difference since he started in this position. He understands children and he has been able to make a connection with all students. Amazing leader with magnificent skills of leadership with colleague and in students. His help with students' discipline and behavior management was huge and priceless. He is working all the time, he never says no, he always wants to learn, he cares a lot about the students and creates a comfortable work atmosphere in which you know you can always count on him.

Mr. Centurion wasn't able to join us but did send this message once he watched the video announcing the news. "No words! Thank you so much, thank you to all my Franklin Family!!! Thank you!"

Join us as you visit each Business Day station to learn about our school vendors, programs, and school procedures. Truly a MUST experience for all new, incoming families. Looking forward to seeing you on July 17th.

For all of our incoming Kinder Future Falcons,

As mentioned at the Kinder Round-Up Signing Event in May, the links to sign up for a 20-minute kinder screening for 7/23 or 7/24; (only sign up for ONE session) will be emailed to you, check that inbox daily. If you can't make it, please do not worry, we will administer the same screening at the beginning of the school year. The data we will receive from administering these screenings will helps us place our students in balanced classes as best as we can. If your child attended preschool this past school year, and you have any data reports to share, feel free to bring them along and we will make a copy to help us with the placement process.

FortifyFL is a suspicious activity reporting tool that allows students to instantly relay information to appropriate law enforcement agencies and school officials.

QUICK AND EASY SAFETY TIP SUBMISSION

By accessing FortifyFL, students can provide a description of the threat, share pics, and videos and optionally submit their contact information. Submissions can be anonymous or non-anonymous. Submitting a tip is quick and easy using our mobile app or website.

All Franklin Academy students have access to FortifyFL via their Clever portal dashboard.
