The Inspire Award
Congratulations to Louis Cheeseman, Lee Capodice, and Aurora Crouse for earning the Inspire Award. The Inspire Award is based on Trojans who demonstrate exemplary leadership. Leadership embodies mindsets, behaviors and skills to succeed in school and beyond.
Louis (Louie) Cheeseman: When you think of a true leader in action, you think of someone like Louie Cheeseman. As the key member of the Brummitt’s robotics program, Louie doesn’t just lead—he elevates. Thanks to his initiative, strategic thinking, and relentless dedication, two Brummitt teams earned a coveted spot at the Indiana State Robotics Championship—a milestone that would not have been possible without his guidance.
But Louie’s impact goes far beyond trophies and tournaments. He’s the kind of teammate who puts in extra time to troubleshoot problems, patiently mentors team members, and makes sure no one feels left behind. Whether he's designing a robot arm or lifting up the people around him, Louie brings creativity, compassion, and a contagious passion for STEM to everything he does.
In short, Louie is the kind of leader who doesn’t just build robots—he builds community. And that’s exactly the kind of person this award was made for.
Lee Capodice: Lee exemplifies what it means to be a quiet leader. He leads not through loud declarations, but through consistent action and unwavering character. He is driven by a desire to grow and improve, never settling for mediocrity, and always pushing himself to be better. Lee treats everyone—from peers to teachers—with genuine respect, making him someone who naturally earns the trust and admiration of those around him.
Lee’s reliability and integrity make him a role model in and out of the classroom. He doesn’t need to speak to lead—his actions speak volumes. In fact, he is the kind of student you point to when you want to show others what “doing the right thing” looks like. It is rare to find someone so consistently positive, respectful, and inspiring. Lee is not only a standout student—he is a standout person.
Aurora Crouse: Aurora inspires her peers to participate in classroom activities through her enthusiasm. She is a very engaged learner and always excited to learn new things. She loves being with her peers and inspires them to participate in activities that they might not otherwise, such as playing games at recess. Her desire to learn new things is inspiring to both staff and students and helps involve everyone to partake in the classroom community.

The Engage Award
Congratulations to Fernando Lara-Lechuga for earning the Engage Award. The Engage Award is based on Trojans who demonstrate exemplary behaviors. Behavior embodies mindfully using your unique talents to respectfully connect to the school and community.
Fernando Lara-Lechuga: Fernando exemplifies the qualities of the Engage Award through his consistent kindness and willingness to support his classmates. He is always ready to lend a helping hand, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued. Fernando actively engages others, encouraging his peers to participate and work together. As a natural leader in the classroom, he brings a positive energy that uplifts those around him. His respectful behavior and exemplary conduct make him a true mentor, particularly to his younger peers, as he consistently sets a high standard for others to follow. It is a pleasure to see his leadership and compassion in action every day.

The Empower Award
Congratulations to Christopher (CJ) Byrge, Fiona Heim, Camila Coronado, and Chessa Adams for earning the Empower Award. The Empower Award is based on Trojans who demonstrate exemplary growth/achievement. Growth and achievement as demonstrated by resilience and excellence in the pursuit of academic success.
Christopher Byrge: Christopher (CJ) Byrge truly embodies the spirit of the Empower Award through his perseverance and remarkable growth in reading. Over the course of this year, he has made tremendous strides and I am incredibly proud of the progress he has achieved. CJ consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic and an unwavering determination, never giving up when faced with challenges. His commitment to improvement is inspiring, and it is a privilege to witness his continued development and success.
Fiona Heim, Camila Coronado, and Chessa Adams: Each of these girls improved by more than 140 points and successfully passed the IREAD-3 assessment, showing this kind of reading growth is an incredible accomplishment. They’ve worked extremely hard all year long, and their dedication has truly paid off. Their reading skills have soared, and we couldn’t be more proud.
Girls, your progress is inspiring—way to go! Keep up the amazing work!
A special congratulations to Fiona Heim for earning a perfect score on the IREAD Assessment. Amazing work Fiona!
