Dear LMS Families,

We hope you had a great Thanksgiving and a restful weekend. LMS has a book fair this week during students' library classes. See the attached flyer for more information, and click the button below to order books online. Don't forget that the Annual Ski & Snowboard Meeting is this Wednesday, November 30th in the LMS cafeteria from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Also, the Faculty Follies is back for one show this year on Thursday, December 1st at 6:30 pm in the LHS Auditorium. There are still tickets available in the office. See more information below.

LMS is in week 4 of the marking period. Please be sure to check ParentVue for your child's academic progress. Marking periods are nine weeks long and the end of this marking period is on January 13th. All LMS students will take the mid-year NWEA Benchmark Assessment starting on December 5th. This assessment helps help teachers check student performance by measuring achievement and growth. Teachers use results to tailor classroom lessons and set goals for students.

The middle school robotics team had their first competition this past weekend. They competed at the Howell Qualifier against 35 other teams. They finished 19th out of the 36 teams and they were chosen by the third place alliance captains for playoffs. As part of the alliance, they won the semi-finals upsetting the second place seed. Unfortunately, they were eliminated in the finals and finished as a member of the Finalist Alliance. They were also the Think Award Finalist, and earned a spot at the Michigan State Championships at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, December 15th-17th. We wish them the best of luck in their upcoming competition.
