Would you like to see all the wonderful learning opportunities, school events, and recognition celebrations happening at Daffron? Please take a moment to complete the Online Forms in your child’s Skyward registration (it is Step 13: Authorizations and Acknowledgements. These forms pertain to several school-related permission releases, including your child being included in the yearbook, photos on our Daffron and Plano ISD Social Media (X, Instagram, Facebook, and Websites) including artwork, school awards/recognition, field trips, class parties, field day, dress up days, classroom projects, assemblies, PTA, and so much more! We appreciate your help with completing this information. If you have multiple children, you must complete the forms for each child and don’t forget to follow us on Social Media.

Research and experience prove that regular school attendance is critical to student success. We encourage you to view this video message from Plano ISD Superintendent Dr. Theresa Williams emphasizing the essential role that consistent school attendance plays in overall student growth.

Plano ISD will provide a series of informational meetings for parents about our new Skyward Student Information System. These meetings will provide an overview of Skyward and demonstrate how they can use Family Access to:

• Check grades and report cards
• Track attendance records
• View test scores
• Complete annual registration forms

Details regarding the first two informational meetings are as follows:

Tuesday, October 29

• Time: 6:00-7:30 p.m.
• Location: Plano East Senior High

Saturday, November 2

• Time: 10:00-11:30 a.m.
• Location: Clark High School

During each meeting, we will cover how to log into the system, navigate the Family Access portal and explore the various tools available to stay informed and engaged with their child's academic progress.

Question & Support Session:

Following the presentation, we will have Q&A stations where each department will have representatives available to engage on any questions regarding the topics.

We are excited to share that Skyward Family Access can now accept attendance notes! If you know your student will be missing school, simply launch your Skyward mobile app and submit an absence request through Family Access. Your campus attendance clerk will be notified and can excuse the absence in just a few clicks! While campuses can still accept paper notes from families, this added feature is intended to streamline family communication with campus staff regarding student absences.

Dear Daffron Families,

Plano ISD is partnering with our local professional hockey team, the Allen Americans, for a special game night planned specifically for Plano ISD students, families and staff! PISD Night with the Allen Americans will take place at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center (200 East Stacy Road; Allen, TX 75002) on October 30, at 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.

Please use the QR code on this printable flyer English to make your ticket purchase. When you type “Daffron Elementary” into the required field, our school will receive $5 for every ticket purchased! Si sabe que su estudiante no asistirá a la escuela, simplemente inicie su aplicación móvil Skyward y envíe una solicitud de ausencia a través de Family Access. El empleado de asistencia de su campus recibirá una notificación y podrá justificar la ausencia con solo unos pocos clics.
