What Every Spartan Needs to Know
Back to School Night Feedback
This year we exchanged our September Open House for an August Back to School Night in hopes of increasing student and family engagement. We were happy to see an increase in participation as students and families prepare for the upcoming year, but wanted to get family feedback on this new event as well. We appreciate you taking a few minutes to complete the following survey.
How to Report Attendance
Parents, PLEASE REPORT ALL ATTENDANCE IN INFINITE CAMPUS. You are able to enter your request directly into IC at any time of day, even for short notice or late requests. (Instructions). If you are concerned that the office staff is not receiving your IC absence request, please make sure you allow push notifications for the Infinite Campus app on your phone. Once the IC request is processed you will get a notification.
As a back-up, you can leave a message on the attendance line, 608-838-4657, or email mhsattendance@mcfsd.org. Please do not call the main office to report an absence, doctor appointment, early pick up, or late arrival, even if it's last minute. These should all go in IC or use the phone number or email listed above, as these methods are the fastest ways to contact us.
Spartan Reset
Last year, our Spartans accumulated 6,403 tardies, 6,449 unexcused absences, and 601 behavioral referrals. To address these challenges and refocus on the importance of being on time, staying in class, and being a positive member of our school community, we will be starting a system called the Spartan Reset. This system includes a list of criteria relating to attendance and behavior and the potential consequences.
We have included some checks and balances along the way in hopes of reminding students how their choices impact certain privileges. Please review the chart below and notice:
The criteria for being on the Spartan Reset list.
The loss of privileges for schools and co-curricular activities for the first and subsequent offenses.
The specific criteria related to being allowed to participate in school dances.
We appreciate your partnership in assisting our students to help recognize that being on time and in class as a positive member of the larger school community is important. If you have any questions please reach out to Ms. Harper or Ms. Schoemer.
