Happy March!

Dear Rayburn Parents and Guardians,

This year has been going by so quickly but we have had a great one thus far. Our Rockets have been working so hard and have been so dedicated to their learning. This month we are celebrating Music in Our Schools week, and I would like to send a shout out to our amazing music teacher, Ms. Arguelles. She does so much for our campus and district to ensure our kiddos are able to foster an appreciation of music.

We are also going to celebrate Texas Public Schools Week this month. We invite parents to join us for open house so your children can share all the work they have been doing over the school year. We have concluded our Mid Year literacy assessments and I am proud to say that our students have been showing great progress! Teachers and interventionists are targeting reading groups throughout the week to focus on specific skills students need. We have also concluded our 3rd -5th grade benchmarks and have created action plans to ensure students are prepared for their state assessment (STAAR), which measures their mastery of the grade level TEKS. If your child has been asked to stay for tutoring, please ensure they are staying. Please support our efforts by ensuring your child is at school each day so that they benefit from all that we have planned for them. I encourage you to set up a conference with your child’s teacher to review your child’s academic progress so that you are well informed of their progress.

Registration is now open for the 2025-2026 school year! Please take time to register and secure your spot for next year. This will help us to plan for class sections for next school year.

Parents, please read local policy below regarding retention and promotion. Please ensure that you are scheduling parent conferences with teachers if you have any concerns or questions regarding their grades. Our teachers have been scheduling middle of year conferences to review benchmark grades, Amplify (K-2nd) & CLI (Pre-K) progress.
