Welcome, 2021-2022!

The new school year is just around the corner, and we have a lot to share with our GT families! The newest addition to our monthly communication is a section on the GT Showcase (TPSP) Tasks for the month. We will also share GT Learning Plan dates beginning in September. Please see below for details on these initiatives.

New campuses have been added to our pilot programs for Innovation Hour and GT Learning Plan, so see if your campus is participating this year!

GT Referral Window Opens

Eligibility: FBISD-enrolled students in grades K-11 NOT receiving GT services in any content area.

Students must be referred through the GT online referral app located on the GT Department Home page: www.fortbendisd.com/gifted

The fall referral window will be open from August 11 through September 30, 2021.

Event Information

GT Parent Advisory Committee Open Meeting

Welcome Back Parents! The GT PAC Executive Board is seeking parents to serve on the GT Parent Advisory Committee (GTPAC) for the 2021-2022 school year.

The Gifted and Talented Parent Advisory Committee (GTPAC) is comprised of parents of gifted students in Fort Bend ISD who support the GT program offered by Fort Bend ISD. The GTPAC allows parents the opportunity to collaborate with the Fort Bend ISD Gifted and Talented Department and provide feedback related to Gifted and Talented programming.

The 2021-2022 GTPAC Membership Drive will run from August 1st to August 31st. If you are interested (or know another parent who is), please take a moment to complete the GTPAC Interest Form by Tuesday, August 31, 2021. Having Trouble Receiving Messages?

You can add message recipients through the District's mass communications platform, Blackboard Connect. Currently the system will only message the Parent/Guardian 1 listed in Skyward. The Parent/Guardian 1 may set up additional recipients such as Parent/Guardian 2 or students to receive messages from the system. Please go to the Communications department webpage for detailed directions and a video on how to complete this process.
