Principal Message
This week saw our first frost (in Sherwood Park at least) as well as our corn festival, L'Épluchette, signs that we're properly moving into the fall season. It's a beautiful time of year, but also a time of year when the difference between indoor and outdoor footwear becomes more and more important. Please make sure your children have both! But mostly we give thanks to God for pleasant weather, for living in a place that has such a variety of seasons, and the beauty of fall. Merci Dieu pout tout!

A Reading From The Gospel for Sunday, September 24, 2022
"The kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. After agreeing with the laborers for a denarius for the day, he sent them into his vineyard. And about five o'clock he went out and found others standing around, and he said to them, "You also go into the vineyard."
When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his manager, "Call the laborers and give them their pay, beginning with the last and then going to the first." Now when the first came, they thought they would receive more; but each of them also received a denarius.
They grumbled against the landowner, saying, "These last worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat."
Buthe replied to one of them, "Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for a denarius? Are you envious because I am generous?"

The 2023 Terry Fox School Run is set for this month and we are so excited to be taking part!
École OLPH will be hosting our run on Wednesday, September 27th starting in the gym at 9:00 a.m.

Lunch Hour
École OLPH is a closed campus.
There are many different activities and choices for student during their recesses. All students are required to stay on school grounds during morning recess, as well as, during the lunch hour.

2022-2023 yearbook orders from last year have been distributed to students. If you ordered a copy for your child last year, please ensure to check your child's belongings for their order.
Please email Carianne Opalka at carianne.opalka@eics.ab.ca if you have any additional questions. There are no extra copies of yearbooks that can be additionally purchased.

Student School Bus Passes
All bus passes have been mailed directly to your home from the Transportation department for any students who have requested and paid transportation fees.
There will be no charge for the first bus pass, however, if your child losses their bus pass and requires a new one, there will be a $10 charge applied to your PowerSchool account.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact the transportation office at transportation@eics.ab.ca.

Reporting a Student Absence
Please review the steps below on reporting your child's absence.
Please call 780-467-5631 or email the school at olph@eics.ab.ca to indicate that a student will be absent. When reporting an absence please provide:
Student Name (first and last)
Reason for absence (illness, flu or other)
Duration of absence
