Football
Football is available for all eligible students. There are no tryouts to be a part of the team, although we do not guarantee equal playing time for athletes. Practice begins on August 14 at 3:20. Kids need to report to the field house. They need to have shorts, t-shirt and football cleats.
Cross Country
Cross Country is another opportunity for any eligible 7th or 8th grade student to be involved in a school activity. Practice starts on August 14 at 3:15PM. Runners need to have a water bottle and running shoes.
A parent meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 21 @ 6PM. Runners can expect at least one Saturday practice before the first meet.
Physicals Needed
We are so looking forward to Fall Activities starting up. Practices begin on August 14. PLEASE NOTE: Completed Physical packets must be turned in to the office for your child to participate in/ try out for fall athletic activities. If you need a physical packets, they are available on the Paola Middle School Web page, in the office and we will have them at enrollment on August 2.
Lockers
7th and 8th Grade students will be given their locker assignment with their schedules. Some students enjoy personalizing their lockers. We enjoy seeing the students creativity, however, students should avoid using contact paper, stickers, etc that permanently adhere to the surface. Shelving, magnetic mirrors etc. work well. If in doubt, please check with the office before using.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The lockers at Paola Middle School are being re-painted. At this time students will not have access to lockers until August 11. Students will not be allowed access to lockers until that time and should not plan to come in and decorate. If lockers are ready earlier than that time we will post that information on our Facebook page. Thank you for being patient.
Drop Off Routine
It is important for students to arrive at school in plenty of time to be prepared for their 1st class. Students should be dropped off at the West Entrance. Please Note: 1st Hour Bell Rings at 8AM- students not in their classrooms at that time will be marked as tardy. When planning for the year, make sure to keep two things in mind when planning your day 1) if your child will be eating breakfast at school and 2) how much time your child needs to get his/her materials and be ready for class at 8. No student should arrive prior to 7:30 AM unless a practice is scheduled.
