A Message from FCS Schools
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Forsyth County Schools is implementing updates for Self-Pay Course Credits starting Summer 2025. These changes will apply to current freshmen (Class of 2028) and all following cohorts.
There is now a limit to the number of self-pay courses FCS will post to a student's high school transcript and factor into the GPA. These changes are designed to better align with state and district standards while supporting our students' academic success and overall well-being.
For detailed information and FAQs, please visit the FCS website:
Additional details will be shared at high school information nights and registration events. If you have any questions after reviewing the linked webpage, please reach out to your child's school.
Thank you for your continued partnership,
Forsyth County Schools

Scoliosis Screening:
We will be holding scoliosis screening for 6th and 8th grade students on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
The procedure is a simple, painless, 60 second test in which the students’ spine is observed in the standing and forward bending positions. Boys and girls will be screened separately. If your child has a suspected curvature, you will be notified by mail.
To make the scoliosis screening process go smoothly we ask that parents discuss with their child how the process will work. Please advise them to wear only one layer of clothing on the day of the screening. Multiple layers of clothing delay the screening process. Since it is necessary for us to view your child's spine, we will need them to remove their shirt, please encourage them to wear a bra, sports bra, or bathing suit top under their shirt. All attempts will be made to respect each student's privacy and modesty.
If you do not wish to have your student screened for scoliosis you must sign the refusal form on Parent campus by going to student name-documents-scoliosis refusal form or if you can’t access parent campus-have your student pick up a paper form at the front office or nurse office. Please feel free to reach out to Nurse Sommer if you have any questions via email at: soberkrom@forsyth.k12.ga.us or 770-781-4889 ext. 290120.
You may find additional Scoliosis information and a printable version of the refusal form here.

Rising 7th Grade Immunization Requirement for 2025-2026
Before starting the 2025-2026 school year; Per Georgia law, all public-school students born on or after January 1, 2002, and entering, advancing, or transferring into 7th grade in Georgia need proof of an adolescent pertussis (whooping cough) booster vaccination (Tdap) given on or after their 7th birthday and an adolescent meningococcal vaccination (MCV4) given on or after their 10th birthday. Proof of both vaccinations must be documented on the Georgia Immunization Certificate (Form 3231) by the first day of school for all 7th graders.
Where can a student get vaccinated?
Children should visit their health care provider or local health department to get their Tdap or meningococcal vaccination.
Once I confirm my student has received these immunizations, how do I let the school know?
The school nurse has access to the Georgia Registry of Immunizations and will be able to see when your student’s vaccinations are updated in the system. You are also welcome to email or call the school nurse at soberkrom@forsyth.k12.ga.us 770-781-4889 ext. 290120.
