Bring Your Own Device
It is important because the use of personal computing devices in the classroom is seen as a way to either supplement situations or to test online learning environments BYOD provides students access to digital learning tools across the curriculum and calls for teachers to rethink learning activities in order to capitalize on school investments.
IT is used by students bringing their own cellular devices or other electronics and using them in different ways with learning throughout their classrooms.
Makerspaces
A makerspaces is a physical location where people gather to share resources and knowledge, work on projects, network, and build. Makerspaces provide tools and space in a community environment—a library, community center, private organization, or campus. Expert advisers may be available some of the time, but often novices get help from other users.
The makerspaces—sometimes referred to as a hackerspace—is often associated with fields such as engineering, computer science, and graphic design. This idea of a collaborative studio space for creative endeavors has caught hold in education, where the informal combination of lab, shop, and conference room form a compelling argument for learning through hands-on exploration.
3D Printing
3D printing is technologies that construct physical objects from three-dimensional digital content such as 3D modeling software, computer-aided design (CAD) tools, computeraided tomography (CAT), and X-ray crystallography.
It is important because since 3D printing appeared in the first NMC Horizon Report in 2004, the technology has helped the US Department of Defense to inexpensively create aerospace parts, architects create models of buildings, medical professionals develop body parts for transplants, and much more.
It is used It all starts with making a virtual design of the object you want to create. This virtual design is made in a CAD (Computer Aided Design) file using a3D modeling program (for the creation of a totally new object) or with the use of a 3D scanner (to copy an existing object). A 3D scanner makes a 3D digital copy of an object.
Adaptive Learning Technologies
Adaptive learning is a computer-based and/or online educational system that modifies the presentation of material in response to student performance. Best-of-breed systems capture fine-grained data and use learning analytics to enable human tailoring of responses.
It is important because it helps teachers adapt lessons and it provides information that empowers teachers students get real time response to their work and teachers get data on what their children need.
Adaptive learning technology is used by NASA for simulation training, safety models, and has been used in various branches of the U.S. military, including the Army Learning Concept 2015, that trains and educates soldiers for asymmetric warfare.
Digital Badges
It is important because currently, digital badging systems are gaining traction in many online learning environments including Khan Academy, with promising results. they are being used by educators and organizations that are seeking comprehensive approaches to demonstrate a student’s learning path — methods that encompass far more than grades and traditional credits.
Wearable Technology
It is important because the benefit of wearable technology is that it can conveniently integrate tools that track sleep, movement, location, and social media interactions, or, in the case of Oculus Rift and similar gear,305 it can enable virtual reality .
infographic designs
An infographic design is a representation of information in a graphic format designed to make the data easily understandable at a glance. People use infographics to quickly communicate a message, to simplify the presentation of large amounts of data, to see data patterns and relationships, and to monitor changes in variables over time.
