Weekly Family Communication
The mission of Holy Rosary School is to help each child discover and fully develop their God-given talents. As a Catholic School community, we strive for excellence in our students’ spiritual, academic, physical, mental, aesthetic, and social-emotional growth. It is our intention that those who attend this institution mature into active citizens leading a committed faith life and reaching out to help others locally, nationally, and internationally with their wisdom, time, talent, and financial resources.
Principal's Message
Dear Holy Rosary Families,
We’ve had a wonderful second week on campus and are getting into the full swing of this year! I want to thank each one of you for your partnership as we start this year, it’s truly a team effort and we appreciate our families so much.
I’d like to share a “save the date” with you for our first virtual Parents Club meeting of the year, the evening of October 16th. Our wonderful school counselor Megan Choitz will provide a presentation on helping students develop grit and a growth mindset at the start of the year. We’re doing a similar professional development with staff too! Zoom sign up info to come, but with this busy time of the year I wanted to make sure you had it on your calendars.
Have a wonderful rest of the week!
In Christ,
Anna

Counselor's Corner
Here are some things to consider as we have transitioned back to school.
Routines Matter: Establishing consistent routines around sleep, homework, and meals is crucial for our students' success.
Collaboration: Our students are learning how to work together effectively both in the classroom and on the playground. Encourage your children to share their experiences at home!
Classroom Expectations: We have revisited our classroom expectations, focusing on our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) principles of being Safe, Respectful, and Responsible. Ask your children what these values mean to them.
Faith At Home
Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows – September 15, 2024
The Seven Sorrows of Mary are a devotion given to us by St. Bridget of Sweden, based on seven sad events that occurred in the life of Our Lady and are recorded in the Bible.
1. The Prophecy of Simeon (Lk 2:25-35)
2. The Flight into Egypt (Mt 2:13-15)
3. The Loss of the Child Jesus in the Temple of Jerusalem (Lk 2:41-51)
4. The Meeting of Jesus and Mary on the Way of the Cross (Lk 23:26-31)
5. The Crucifixion (Jn 19:17-18, 25-30)
6. The Removal of Jesus’ Body from the Cross (Mk 15:43-47)
7. The Burial of Jesus (Jn 19:39-42)
Family Activity
Collect a bible and seven pieces of sour things for each person participating. Eg; lemon slices, sour candy, etc. Look up the events one at a time in the Bible and read the passages aloud. After reading each of the sorrows, hand out a sour something to each person. Recite a Hail Mary while meditating on the sorrow and eating the sour thing. The challenge is to think about how Mary would have felt during that experience and be eating the sour thing and not make a face! While Mary was spared original sin, she was not spared from suffering.
Notes & Reminders
Drop Off & Pick Up
If you are dropping off in front of the school in the morning, please pull as far forward as you can, do not exit your car and drop off quickly. This will help us and our neighboring school get safely started for the day. Out of respect for our neighbors, please do not block driveways or parking spot. This includes behind the church and parish office. Thank you!
School Directory
The School Directory is available online. You can access it through the Family Portal. We will not have printed copies available.
