Falcon Zone Satisfaction Survey
The feedback from our Community is very important to us. We are always looking to grow based on feedback from our families, but we cannot change what we do not know. Additionally, we do a lot of great things in our schools and we want to know the good stuff so we can keep those things in place!
Please take a moment to complete this short survey (4 rating scales) to provide zone and school level administrators with insight as to how we can make the Falcon Zone the best choice to learn, work and lead!
Friendly Reminder when arriving to school late
MRES Families,
It is important that a parent/guardian sign in students who arrive at 8:30 or later. We close the doors at 8:30 and therefore your student is late. Parents must ring the doorbell and walk their child in the building, we have too many students who cannot reach, or know how to ring the bell (this is a safety concern). Also, if we do not have a parent sign in, we then mark that student Unexcused absence.
Thank you from The Front Office

Visitors During Lunch
This school year we have our "Bulldog Family Bistro Table," which has space for one family. If you would like to come to school and have lunch with your child during their lunch time, please contact the front office at 719-494-2909 to make a reservation. We can accommodate one family per grade level lunch daily. Please limit your reservations to once a week to allow for other families the opportunity to experience this time with their child. If you plan on purchasing school lunch, please indicate when making a reservation. Children not enrolled at Meridian Ranch Elementary may not visit the school unless accompanied by an adult. All visitors to the school must check in at the office with a valid ID before going to out lunchroom area and wear their “visitor or volunteer badge” at all times.

D49 Photo Opt Out Policy Update
Dear Parents,
In order to confirm District 49 has the correct students listed in our new Photo Opt Out policy, we are asking that you resubmit a new form approved by the Board of Education.
Over the past several years, we have seen numerous incidents where a student was listed in the previous “media denial” form, but parents allowed them to participate in photos and videos.
In November, the Board of Education approved a new Photo Opt Out policy. If you would like your student to remain listed in our Photo Opt Out policy you must fill out the new form in PowerSchool. We will begin using the new Photo Opt Out list in March.
Instructions can be found on the D49 website here:

Military and Family Life Counseling program (MFLC)
MRES Families,
I am the Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) at MRES. I will be meeting with many of your military students this year to provide support and resources so they can be successful in the school environment. Military families make up a large part of our community and there are numerous military students that are part of our student population. I am looking forward to this school year and working with you and your students. Some of the services I provide include: deployment and separation, school adjustment, reunion adjustment, behavioral concerns, COVID related issues, conflict resolution, academic stress, fears and anxieties, and grief and loss. My access to these students is typically through the classroom teacher or other school staff. I am required to have parental permission to work with students so I am asking you to send home a parental permission form to all students that are from military families. I have attached an electronic permission form for you to copy or if you need a hard copy just let me know. I am also including an attachment that gives further details and information about the MFLC program. Military students and their families have unique and challenging stressors and I am here to support and assist them in any way possible. Please let me know if you have further questions or need additional information.
Thanks for your support of military students and their families!
Sincerely,
Steve Wright
