January 2025 Edition
A Word from Cathy
Happy New Year,
As we begin the second half of the school year, I want to remind you that you are the heartbeat of our Head Start classrooms. You are the driving force behind children’s learning, equipping them with the skills they need for success. I know the responsibility you carry is immense, but I have every confidence in your ability to do it. 😊
Keeping children safe is a responsibility we all share. We’ve provided you with tools to teach safety, and I encourage you to use them consistently. Recently, I heard a powerful example of how intentional safety instruction makes a difference. A campus administrator, while assisting with afternoon car riders, mistakenly took a child to the wrong car. The child immediately spoke up, saying, “That’s not my car!” The child was correct. This story illustrates the importance of intentional teaching, practicing, and empowering children to use their voices.
Thank you for all you do. Wishing you well as you continue to teach and keep our children safe.
