May Heritage Months
May is Jewish American Heritage Month and Asian American & Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander Month!
Jewish American Heritage Month is observed in May to honor the generations of Jewish Americans who have shaped American history, culture, and society. The Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum all participate in this month-long tribute.
May was designated AAPI Month to commemorate the first Japanese immigrants to arrive in the U.S. in 1843. May was also chosen as way to remember the Chinese immigrants who worked tirelessly to create the first transcontinental railroad in America in May of 1843 and ending in May of 1869.
Jewish American and Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islanders have contributed and continue to contribute so much to the United States.
So Much Lost and Found!
Spring is the season of lost layers. We're cold in the morning and then we get hot while out at recess. The picture below is just six weeks' worth of found items. Please encourage your child to check the lost and found for their missing items or come on in and take a look yourself.
Successful Schools - Please Help!
Can you help?
Thank you to the 36 parents/caregivers that have shared their perspective about Scott School on the Successful Schools Survey. We use the data to help improve our schools, providing targeted feedback and training on how to create healthy school environments that are welcoming for all.
Students get a dance party if we hear from at least 50% of our families - you can help! We need approximately 160 more responses to reach our goal! Please click this link or scan the QR code below to take the survey. It will take approximately 15-30 minutes to complete and is available in English, Spanish, Russian, Somali, Vietnamese and Chinese.
The survey closes on May 31.
