In this chapter, your child will learn about weight. Some skills your child will practice are:

• comparing the weight of objects using the terms heavier, lighter, heaviest, lightest, and as heavy as
• measuring the weight of objects using non-standard units

This week we have started our unit on Measurement. In this unit we will focus on three main topics:

-Height and Length (Chapter 9)

-Weight (Chapter 10 book 1B)

-Graphs (Chapter 11 book 1b)

After each of the three topics, the students will take a quiz! We will be focusing on the vocabulary words associated with each, estimating, collecting data, and making logical connections to the real world! This is a very hands-on unit for the students, and one that many enjoy!
