There are only four weeks left in this grading period. Most kids are doing fine, but stay updated by checking Skyward on a regular basis.

Also, there's no school for students on Friday, September 20.

This week we're are looking at choosing, embedding, and citing the best evidence to support our claim.

In connection with that, we'll complete the ThinkCERCA module "Seventh Grade." Here is the text to that story.

In connection with that, we'll complete the ThinkCERCA module "Marigolds." Here is the text to that story.

During the first of these two weeks, the students will read the poem "A Poison Tree" and answer questions and make corrections to their first Campus Test, followed by a lesson on Extended Constructed Responses (essays).

The following week, they will take a two-day district exam. Day One is an essay over "The Landlady"; Day Two is a multiple-choice test over a new passage.

For the next two weeks, the students will be reading about Fracking, analyzing the text, and writing an essay. This is our goal.
